Lobb is worth a third rounder. Off to the Dogs anyway.

Disagree. If he played for a VIC based team he would get alot more kudos. Very good player imo

What would you say he's worth?

To a club in the Window that needs a proven tall I'd say early 2nd round.

Fair call

Just having a post round chin wag with mates on Whatsapp, and I said that Jackson will take over the mantle from Brodie Grundy as the most overpaid player in the AFL next year. One of my mates who is a real estate agent in Perth posted a picture of a house that sold for $1.74m, and the own is Luke Stephen Jackson. He said that Jacko bought the house for his mum.

Now that doesn't confirm that Jacko will leave, but my mate also added that Jacko's mum had mentioned to a guy in his office that Jacko will return to Perth. Again, no guarantee that he'll return next year, but will at some time.

I won't upload the pic because it's too intrusive on the Jackson family.

Where’s Steve going to live?

Except that Luke's middle name isn't Stephen.

Nah sorry I got nothing at all to back that up!

Not going to lie I find it hard to get enthused about watching Luke play of late. It’s a strange feeling.

He's probably gone but that's in October. In the meantime we still have a flag to win so I don't feel any less enthusiastic watching him play.

I’m with you. He is dead to me. 😂

I get that feeling he is probably a goner. Not playing great of late there is no real incentive, just going through the motions. If Dockers/Eagle want to severly overpay him then so be it. He has definelty won us some games in 2021 but this year you hardly notice him at times.

It is Stephen

With all this talk of 198cm Bliclavs taking out Petracca & Cripps in successive weeks. I was thinking perhaps if we meet Geelong again, we can try a tactical shift of the 199cm ruck rover Dogga on Bliclavs, Gawn in ruck, Viney/Oliver in tight. Petracca up forward. If TMAC can get back then it won't make us deficient for size up forward either.

Wrong far too low. Remember a First around No3 Draft Pick who won the Rising Star  and turned games in his first season inc. the Grand Final. Have you forgotten last year.

Is  a Premiership player and ability at his age is far in advance log other 20yo ruck recruits.

Although  he has not had quite the impact this year he has had a solid season and by his nature contributes to the team as a whole,

Still the best 20 yo ruck now and potentially also forward.

Deserve a Top 10 pick say 8-10 at least.as compensation plus a player Logue would be my choice for his versatility and key position attributes.

You know the above discussion was about Rory Lobb? 😮

Kudos to the bloke in the crowd in Alice who was yelling into the effects mic “SIGN THE CONTRACT, LUUUUKE”

But did he say which contract?

Luke has a crack, I thought he had a real go on Sunday. Sadly, his output is not as great as we need. He was really good against the Lions. Then his knee injury and the last couple weeks, like Gawn have been clearly hampered a bit.

But he is more gone than Max is Gawn. Its not about him staying, its about what we get now. One thing I am confident in is that Luke will give his all until there are no more games, and I think his impact in September will be great, So I am behind him, I have been through the stages , denial, wrath, sadness.. now its acceptance.. He is a Dee until he isn't.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
