What else you going to do in lockdown.  AFL players are the lucky ones to be able to still do what they love doing.  Petracca would be like a caged Lion locked up at home.

Ok so this is a segue into the burning question who is going to be our high performance manager? I want us to be the fittest and least injured team in the league.

The guy from Brisbane I assume? Selwyn??

Sept 28 - "Selwyn Griffith has been appointed the club’s new High Performance Manager – he was previously Head of Strength and Conditioning – after working closely with Burgess this past season." Griffith first joined the Demons in November, following nine years at the Brisbane Lions.

Should be a seamless transition.

My best mate plays hockey with a guy who is close friends with Tracc and he said that Tracc had gone through some major confidence issues and was suffering from anxiety. The bubble that the players were in this year helped Christian be like 'you know what (censored) it, i'm going to get through this' and he was able to focus on himself and now he's in a really good place. Now that he's in a great place, hopefully every week he can deliver us a grand final type performance 😜

Sounds as if he has had a good apprenticeship - can one pick up enough in one year from the master?  Could he even outmaster the master? (No pressure, Selwyn)

Not related to this thread but I was struck how poor a runner Bailey Smith was after half Time.   No chasing even in the forward line. Noticed these sort of minor details after a dozen or so watches.

Langdon, named by Kane Cornes today as the league's best gut runner, seemed to be on his own all last 1/4, and deep into 3rd.

Reasonable transition period and smart management by Pert and others to identify the successor so far out. Burgess was great but he had whole -of- team buy in also, so should work out OK.

Could you love this bloke any more?

I just watched the ANZAC eve match, incredible in shocking conditions. Had 38 and a goal, yet it didn’t hold a candle to his Norm performance.

To be already back at work shows the elite mindset.
I can’t believe one of the very best is on my team.

Thanks JTR, I'd seen it before as well, but certainly enjoyed seeing it again.

How bloody cool would it be for Trac just to rock on down to training and join in like that!

Great to see.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
