We'll have a to send a couple of bottles of wine to the Saints out of our $1m booty. Thank them for the big favour they just did for us.

With the Saints win finish top of the McClelland ladder and get the $1million!!

But we don't.

We can drop next week, Collingwood win both of their last two games and we're tied on points.

Not sure what they'd need to close the percentage up, but that's the only way we'd lose it.

Not quite, but oh so close.

The Pies would have to win by 100s points both games.

It’s over.

Put the $1m in a managed fund.

It’s done.

Thanks to the girls!

Ha! Is it that much? I wasn't too sure, just knew it was a mathematical chance.

Sure Pies can win the next 2 and we lose next week but they would have a huge % to make up and I reckon that is most unlikely.

Yeah. I didn't realise the percentage gap was quite so large. I knew we were comfortably ahead, but not 100s of points per game over two games ahead :D

Go stick that culture, Robbo and Warner

that felt good!

You can't include the girls into the men's in terms of culture. That's offensive to the girls program.

It's Separate.

The girls are a very well drilled team which is driven hard by Mick Stinear who's created a fantastic culture for the women's.

The boys could learn a thing or two from the way Mick and his team go about it from a culture point of view.

Does percentage count though? Anyone in the know?

Yes, it does.

Yeah the girls! Yeah the boys! Break out the deluxe cheeseboards everyone!

(Against all logic, still fearful in posting this of some truly wacky Collingwood results #mfcss)

Pies about 300 points behind

Yes, but there are many who are happy to pin the failures of the men upon those that should also get the plaudits of our women’s program.

So while I agree that lumping them together is misleading, so are those that want to pick and choose what the club stands for.

No, they go off points and then sort the ladder alphabetically.

Not bad for a club with culture issues. Absolute powerhouse I say. 1 men's flag 1 women's and consecutive finals appearances for both!

Go dees!

It’s certainly a win for the President and CEO as well as all the admin who work across

The men finishing 4th with a strong percentage gave the women a great platform to top it off.

Hopefully it creates a stronger bond between the two playing groups as they can work together for success.

Over 5k per bonus per bloke, 8k odd for the girls based on list size of 31, not bad going.

Girls have been great but the boys had a big part to play as well.

Wouldn't put it past the AFL to move the goalposts to gift it to Collingwood.

I'll leave the exact percentage calcs to all of you, but in the theoretical 'we lose next week and Collingwood wins this week and next' it depends on all of a) the points scored and b) the margin in our loss and c) the points scored and d) the margins of Collingwood's wins.

But what Collingwood has to make up can be determined from the current total points for and points against:

MFC: PF - 2704 / PA - 1900

CFC: PF - 2409 / PA - 1952

If Collingwood equal our AFLW record score of 107 both weeks and keep their opposition scoreless, and Brisbane equal our record score and keep us scoreless those numbers become:

MFC: PF - 2704 / PA - 2007 134.7%

CFC: PF - 2623 / PA - 1952 134.8%

I think Anthony Green would call it for us.

The men's side should donate their side of the Trophy monies to the girls.

They are already well remunerated ( 10X on average now) and they would only be handing more $'s to the tax man than any of the girls would be.

That’d be a small price for the men to pay for improving the image of the Club.

100% agree. Hopefully this happens. Anyone know the average afl salary for 2023 v aflw?

$46,000 (W)

$387,000 (M)

As per the CBA, by 2027 it will be:

$82,000 (W)

$519,000 (M)

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
