Did we win the premiership on a Sunday?

The AFL had them printed incorrectly and they’ve been recalled😱

Thats embarrassing If it got approved by the AFL ,  All those staff cuts and the rush to get it out.

If they are printed then they are not real signatures, who wants to pay $600 for a photocopied ball?

It’s a print not a football!

There are no signatures on the print.. the problem was with the date used ( Sunday was printed, not Saturday)

Still waiting for my merch (t-shirt, prints, mugs and stubbie holders). Did not think it would take this long.

joeboy is talking about the prints he is selling, not the balls Nixon has forged

Australia Post do not even pretend to care anymore about delivery times these days.

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/afl-investigates-nixon-for-allegedly-selling-forged-demons-premiership-memorabilia-20211010-p58ys0.html

The AFL is investigating claims former player agent Ricky Nixon allegedly sold forged memorabilia commemorating Melbourne’s breakthrough premiership while purporting to raise funds for charity.

Nixon sold footballs said to feature the autographs of Demon premiership players, advertising them on his Facebook page afterlast month’s grand final.

However, The Age has spoken to four Dees fans, who purchased one or more of the balls from Nixon, all of whom believe the signatures have been forged.

Nixon advertised the balls for $575 each plus $20 postage.

At least 20 Melbourne supporters are said to have taken up the offer from Nixon, who claimed that at least some of the funds were going to charity.

Basking in their new premiership glow, the fans were keen to get their hands on this souvenir. But concerns over the legitimacy of the signatures soon arose. One warning sign came when a fan spotted that forward Charlie Spargo had supposedly signed his name with a No. 8, even though he wears No. 9.

This just makes me angry. The guy should be investigated.  Seriously !!

The sale of memorabilia is going to make a huge income and welcome profit for the club. It is the advantage and result of the hard work done to win a premiership.

However, I'm disappointed that the club is going so far as to auction off match-day Mascot experiences for kids. Given they are selling for $1000-$2000 per game so far, it means that the children who can be Mascots are almost certainly going to be from very privileged Melbourne families.

I'd hope that children from less-advantaged Demon families would be able to participate as mascots, and not be shut out because their parents can't afford the cost.

I think the club should reconsider this auction item, or make arrangements for some children whose parents aren't rich.

I thought it was only Rd 1 they were selling.

If it’s every game - yes, that is poor form and elitist.

Looks like Round 1 and one other home game. Would be nice if the successful bidders donated to Ronald McDonald House, Make a Wish or the like.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
