This is all too much. I don’t know what to do now. My mighty Dees are the best team in the league. And by a f****** street. The whole basis of my supporting life is gone, because I’ve followed a team that doesn’t win premierships, for every one of my 56 years. IT’S TOO BL**** MUCH!!!!! BUT I [censored]ING LOVE IT!!!!!

So many good images and videos coming in from ground yet this site won't allow upload 😭😭💙❤️

Unfortunately there are only 16 cannon shots in the 1812 overture or it would be the perfect music for our second-half highlights reel.

Hope the club puts out one of those 2021 behind the scenes dvds

Didn’t cry until watching Gus talking to Garry in the rooms. He is a Demon.

Also spent $300 on merch

How bloody well did Gus speak, great interview.

I saw the 1964 Grand Final and have wondered endlessly whether my grandchildren whose houses are today decked out in red and blue would ever see a Melbourne premiership

There is so much to consider and I don’t pretend to be a brilliant analyst

Better recruiting allied with pruning of the list

A couple of wildcards - Bayley Fritsch

For me a special mention of the daring coaching tactic of handballing forward into danger trusting in the ability of the attacking player to carry forward the contest whereas for so many years the convention has been to handball backwards (the only team I can recall as successfully countering this in 2021 was Collingwood for whatever reason)

The development through Casey that has given some young ones with talent the experience of this Cup that can be carried forward

Also  - from today’s game : we are building for the future

perhaps to create not a one hit wonder but something special and ongoing

My cup runneth over and our fourteen grandchildren not to mention five children have their faith and loyalty rewarded and they have witnessed a true team triumph (without individualism)

Does anybody know if they will have a blue ray / HD version of the replay.

The demon shop has it for sale for $45, $40 for the standard one.

Mate go to the shop and spend some money - it’s there

I have a ticket to B & F night , cant wait for it to happen

Holy forken sheet.
The Demons just won the forking flag.
And what a way to do it.
Got concerned when Bontempelli got off the chain but then for the midfield to respond like they had me roaring.
And then to kick back and watch party time.
Just surreal.

Since I wrote “game over” in the match day thread we kicked 17 goals to one.

I clearly could see what was about to happen.

I can’t believe it, I just can’t believe it.

Love to you all.

Mate agree on one arm was the heart lung machine and on the other.. tge Scotch and coke machine....

IVE JUST REMOVED THE HEART LUNG

GAWD IM SO WRAPPED ... FOR PLAYERS FAMILIES AND ALL ON DEMONLAND🤩😍🥰😇

A huge shout out to Jayden H, Jonesy, Milkshake, the Weed, Neville J, Majak and all of the others on the list who maintained such strong pressure on all on the  field to justify holding their possie - fair dinkum, this flag would not be flying if not for you.

It's probably been said before: thank you Peter Jackson.

Finally my 2 sons (25 and 22) have officially forgiven me for making them support Melbourne.

It was a battle during the Neeld years and only the lure of impending MCC membership kept them on board.

But we've got them for ever now.

Did I actually see that or was it the sweetest dream ever?

We've done it all year. The decoy "leads" short and backwards, and then we attack and kick it forward, trusting our boys to win the contest. And by God they did! Over and over!

Great coaching, great trust, great teamwork, great team, great club. GO DEMONS!!!!!!!!

I can see the dvd version but in this day and age HD is the minimum standard - sorry just a tech head.

I’ll pay whatever - no question on that.

Dad and me have done nothing but hug and cry. Seriously this is one of the most emotional moments of my life. Thank you so much demons. Will never ever forget what you did for us today.
I’ll never have kids and doubt I’ll marry, so this is the best moment of my life. And to enjoy my brothers joy together on Skype. Unbelievable.

More than happy to wear sailor moon buns for a week at work. Don’t worry expect photos btw. 😉

I beg your pardon, WHAT?

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
