I'm getting edgy. Almost midday here in Perth. Still 5 and a half hours to bounce.

At what point is it OK to crack a beer? Need to settle the nerves but also stay sober enough to find me seat.

I'd say 3pm otherwise you risk being hammered by quarter time like I was before then 2018 prelim

Still in shock this is happening, I’ve been a Dees fan since I was 5 (I just liked the colours) and couldn’t stand Freo or Eagles.

This team has put me through some psychological damage, bullying wearing the Dees kit at footy training and pure heartbreak after games like that loss to Ess in 2013.

But here we are and I am so damn pumped. It’s a beautiful day here in Perth. I can’t wait till first bounce and hopefully the nerves will settle. I’m confident we can get it done.

Feeling for you all back in VIC, but I’ve converted a bunch of WA fans to Red and Blue today.

I’ll be 100% losing my voice today.

Let’s go.

Dees by 22.

The pro Melbourne vibe in Perth is significant....so the Demon noise will be loud and strong tda.Great weather and lots of excitement

Mine will be at 4, got a couple of 17 year olds so need to set some kind of example. Mind you if we win all bets are off!

This thread is eerily quiet

I believe most supporters want to chill. No point bringing the tension to an early boil.

I have so many different thoughts going through my head. I fear the dogs will get off to a fast start and we can't catch up, I fear they will target max & our younger players & I fear we won't take our chances. Maybe I'm just reliving 2000.

On the flip side I'm still saying to myself we are in a grand final & still can't believe it. We just have to start well & take our opportunities. I'd love to see browny kick a bag & kozzie dominate

WHO SIGNED OFF ON THIS BEING A NIGHT GAME????

Hurry Up GIF

I’m certain that Rob Sitch is a Demons supporter, but I’m sure I just saw him finish his American News segment on the ABC News channel, shouting “Go Dogs!!”… what’s with that??

Some fool is flying red white and blue balloons in the apartment across the way from me. Really harshing my buzz to be honest.

I take my hat off to you.  On DL since 2013 and managed such restraint to never post.  Your maiden post today is a beauty.  Thank you.  I literally laughed out loud.

Very welcome laughter it was, a temporary stay of tears of the many heartfelt posts on here.

Got word from where? Considering that the decision isn’t announced until one hour before the game, you must have an inside source?

The dogs woke me up too early after a late night...

Made a big breakfast, then trimmed some branches in the backyard until I felt leaning over on the ladder to get that last branch was pushing my luck on a Demon Grand Final Day. Mowed the lawns, took the dogs for a walk. Went for a ride via the local brewery to pick up a growler of their finest to add to the already overflowing fridge.

On the beers now, game time seems a long way off.

Go Dees!

The numerology of passing weeks aligns with the Dee's........

Arrived at my dads. Never seen him this excited. Yeah even wearing the Halloween nurse costume (thank goodness I wasn’t stopped by police! Dunno how I would have explained that) as I am official a ‘carer.’
This could be the best day of our lives or the worst. Just so glad we could be together. Brothers are on Skype. It’s a real family affair ❤️

Yep. I've finally been broken, and woke up with so much resolve. I love them all, and it has given me renewed respect for all the players that haven't quite made it in recent years. Everyone has contributed, in their own way.

Could even say that about Demonland😎

I've been able to keep myself distracted. Watched the Ryder Cup this morning, went to work for a couple of hours to do some Grand Final Grazing Box deliveries and now I'm home. I went via Nathan Jones house this morning and gave him a freebie as a congratulations on his twins and career. Now I'm going to dominate the races at sandown, have my first beer in 5 weeks and enjoy the arvo

I can't believe we have a Grand Final game day thread! There's a lot happening in the world, and indeed our own state right now (Vic), so it's a bit hard to say what a time to be alive, but stuff it - WHAT A TIME!

Go Dees! 😍

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
