I still think Hunt as medi sub. Also I’m not keen on May vs Naughton with May’s hamstring hanging on by a thread. If he goes down and we don’t have a defender ready to go we are in trouble, as I back the Dogs to win their fair share of very good clearances.

Hunt as the mdi sub I agree. Sorry Jordy.

IF May tears his Hammy early on in the game we lose.

But if Smith isnt available, Id add Majak as an emergency and if May still looks iffy close to the start, Id name Daw sub.

Hear me out.

He is actually adaptable to play FB in a pinch but he is better at FF running in a straight line if needed.

His best position is in the middle. From what I saw at Casey he didn't get beaten in the ruck and was in the best most games. He would beat Steph Martin in the middle as a monster and probably around the ground. I reckon watching Steph tonight, Dogs would prefer him if he was available to them.  This would allow Tom to go back and Max forward more.

Prefer him to Hunt or Jordan. We should be able to cover a flanker or, dare I say it, a mid.

Just a thought.

Powa got exposed for being the brittle, soft front runners they are.

Allir Allir goes missing against the best teams and gets exposed big time.

Will be a cracking GF.

Should have said, if May's injured, I think it will be Joel Smith (assuming he's fit). There aren't any other reasonable options.

Hunty ???

Well you should not have to change the 23 who won a prelim by 83 points. However do not play even a slightly injured player in a grand final. If May can't get up then Hunt in.

Tmac down back I reckon and Maxy up forward  more if Maysie can't come up.

He Will though.

The only one that played definitively poor was Rivers but he probably has enough credit in the bank.

Would absolutely love to see Jonesy as Medi sub for the granny. It's not easy sitting for 2 and a half qtrs before coming in, but Jordan seemed a bit off when he came on. Jonesy is next cab off the rank.

Riv played a good last half. 10 possessions. He's fine.

Tmac is a forward no longer a back no way he replaces May ,anyway May will be fine.Only change i could see would be Hunt for Hibbo for extra pace down back. But think it will no change

Except tmac went down back on Friday so his point is valid

For me, we need someone to stop Caleb Daniels impact and someone to stop lachie hunter from having an impact

Just like we seemed to do with Daniel rich

Daniels is the key to the Dogs and a hard tag needs to be applied probably ANB although Outa left field Hunt?

Did tmac actually go down back or was it more a case of drifted into defence momentarily, as does even BB?  Hard to tell from TV.

I think they will consider bringing Smith in, especially for a player like Weightman.  Hunt would be the other one in the frame - naming him might give the Dogs some pause for consideration,  Hibbo would be very stiff, but he was dropped after we played them last time.

It might be Hibbo and Jordon out for one or both of Smith and Hunt.

Yes in the last game I was screaming at the TV (as insane as it is)

“who’s on Daniel. Goodwin wake up. He’s killing us”

34 possessions across half back.  Sets up play.  Maybe Sparrow plays as a defensive half forward.

Any of ANB, Spargo or Fritta will be asked to this. Most likely ANB.

If Tmac goes back he will slot straight in. He replaced Tomlinson when he did his knee and did very well. He couldn’t get a kick before that move. He’s  a natural defender. I would be tempted to play him on Naughton. He’s not the kind of player that gets out marked easily.

Spargo to Daniel for mine. ANB is important further up the ground as a link up player with his hard running. Fritta too important as a target and goal scoring option. Spargo doesn’t get many touches, but he does make the most of them around goal. He’s also comfortable moving further up the ground and tackles hard when he gets the chance. Get him to put the clamps on Daniel and then take his opportunities if they arise.

I suspect that Petty will start on Naughton, even if May plays.

Majak Daw ... really?

Smith on Smith is probably a good match up.

Viney on Libba.

Bont ... hmm .... not really possible to tag him, but perhaps Harmes? Or Smith?

Think Hunt needs to play, purely for his speed.

ANB would shut him down easily in my opinion.

I'm reluctant to go with too many hard tags. We will back in our game head to head, and fair enough, we have as many stars as they do!! No fear. Having said that if we go for a tag, the focuss should be on Libba and Daniel to starve the dogs of outside ball.

I actually like this. We don't want to lose run in the midfield and he will hold Daniel accountable around goal.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
