Wow! Just wow!

Go you Demons!!!

Max Gawn definitely gave the Cats nightmares tonight.

What a brilliant game by him!

Just wish this was played at the MCG!

Anyway, we still have unfinished business.....

Hopefully Steven May's hamstring will recover in time.

Time to recuperate, reset and refocus for the Grand Final and our next opponent.

Ahhhh Chris Scott......”May and Lever will have to try and stop our guns”

Then post match presser “ah look I don’t really want to talk right now”

big lesson for you Chris - let the actions do the talking, and not the fake pre game words

Wow. I reckon that was Max's best game and Salem's best game for the club. And they did it in a bloody prelim. Incredible. A terrific, focused, ferocious team performance that went some way towards erasing that dark day in 2011.

You made us proud, Redlegs. One more win.

how fckn hilarious was the mexican wave, just like during the middle overs at the cricket!! 😂

Is that a wa thing to do that at events? I went to see queen in concert there last year & they did the wave to which I found a bit odd

Finally in bed. Scrolling online. It’s hit me that we are in a grand final and that we won’t be able to share the moment with the players. And that really hurts. It hurts because we’ve suffered a lot as a supporter base. If you aren’t a Melbourne supporter you just have no understanding of the deep scars, the heartache, the loss and the failure we’ve been through together. We have been through it all just to experience this moment.

I am incredibly emotional and it’s a mixed bag of pride, and excitement, and deep sadness.
I am beyond proud of what this club has achieved this year already. Beyond excited for what is to come. And incredibly happy for everyone at the club who has worked so hard for this moment, but more importantly, for all of our supporters.

For the rest of my life if i ever feel down and troubled or things just aint looking that great........

....i will just quietly sit down and rewatch that 3rd quarter over and over and over again.

Go you Demons forever !

That was the most enjoyable game I've ever watched.
A win for the ages.
I tell ya what ....They boys are gonna take some stoppin'.
Magical night for Demons everywhere.
Amazing highlight reel.

And Oliver barely made a dint on the stat sheet and May blew a leg and we won by 83 points. Like what the actual [censored]?

Back at my hotel watching the replay. Hawkins really did go 2 hands in the back on May didn't he.

Other thoughts, I hope 15 days is enough to get over a strain..

You’re going to have to explain to Ed that it hasn’t always been this way. He might not believe you….

He may not have been his prolific self (he was tagged all night), but he was [censored] brilliant nonetheless.

How good was that 40 metre drilling pass under pressure down the wing?

A thing of beauty

It was mentioned after the game on Fox that one of the only other times 101 points was scored in a game from stoppages was Geelong against Melbourne in the 186 game that cost Bailey his coaching job.

Well, we well and truly paid that one back tonight, and we did it in a Prelim.

So i think that safely puts that one safely to bed forever.

....feeling safe Chris?

Final thoughts from me.

I remember being at the 2018 debacle and there was a Mexican wave going around the stadium late in the game and it felt [censored]. Like, the game was over.

Mexican wave happened in the last qtr tonight. Did 4-5 full rotations of the stadium and only stopped because of a I think Kozzi goal. Hits different when you win.

Well said, @Jaded. I can also feel the nagging hurt under the exuberant joy.

It's not hollow - it's full. Full of pride and appreciation for the players and the fans that could get there, for the Perth community that obviously chose the world of men and righteousness over the Orc and goblins of Mordor.

I am sad for myself and my dad and for you, and Nasher and Andy and 55 and Redleg and WJ and those of us that have spent draining years, talking amongst each other when the club was irrelevant and nowhere.

Now it's everywhere and at the height of its relevance where our spectators are incapable of even enjoying it together in person - let alone at the ground.

But we get to see the Demons run around in our jumper in the last Saturday in September and it is something to cherish.

And we will be doing that together...

Thought the umpiring was exceptional tonight, hardly noticed them which usually they did a great job.

Exceptional tonight, best umpired Dees game this year for mine.

Who knows, never seen it at the footy before, game was done and dusted so the neutrals might have been bored. It was going around just as Kozzy kicked that snap in the last which was so awesome.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
