And to think had we beaten the Hawks and hadn’t been stuffed by the umps against Crows that would be 76 pts. Not sure when a team has been minor premiers with that many pts.

Lol! Chris Scott in presser saying they were disappointed because they controlled the game but didn't win. They lost 3 out of 4 quarters FFS!

I said in game day , at half time that perhaps we have a cunning plan .

it seems we did !!

just sitting here, drinking a furphy, thinking about that time at KP when Gawn rose above the pack, sat on the Geelong players head and took a screamer.

kicking the goal, after the siren, from 50 out

put us on top of the ladder.

The 2nd quarter was a horror show. So many players way down on output. they were unrecognisable from the team we've seen all year

But we regrouped at half time and got to work. stemmed the bleeding in the 3rd and then produced the most significant quarter of football i've ever seen from this club.

This team has guts and belief to go with bags of talent. It will take us all the way this year in my humble opinion

Its the red hair, there is no other explanation, Clayton is such a jet!!!!

Chris Scott post game.
What a Dhead.

HOW THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO SLEEP TONIGHT?

And a "Comedy of errors from a lot of people"

Bitching about the umpires

They had the rub all [censored] night

Miserable [censored] this bloke is

Lol Chris Scott saying they were in control. They played 20 (albeit near-perfect) minutes of football and we controlled the rest of the game.

But he's minimising the disappointment which I suppose is understandable.

Excuse me if this has already been posted but I think that’s the first time in our history we’ve won from a kick after the siren.

That's the greatest win I've seen by MFC.  The most painful loss was 2018 down there at Kardinia Park when Toohey kicked a goal after the siren when we had been in front all night - yes in 60+ years following the club.  That just completely erased it - MAXY you GOD!

Feic it, I think I’ll have a wee single malt or two to help me sleep.
I might watch the second half again while I do. Think I’ll  sleep like a baby

I think I’m going to need sedation if I’m going to get any sleep tonight. I wish I was a drinker at times like these.

Never too late to start! 🥂

My hunch ->

2 Votes - C.................Oliver

Scott presser

What a [censored] he is...

What did he say, he couldn’t possibly have complained about the 50m penalty…

  • POSTGAME: Hawthorn

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
