We were all over them except a 15 minute patch of give up clearance, goal, give up clearance, goal (repeat).

What mental resilience, bonding and belief that creates. Oliver, Lever and Gawn huge.

Now we reset. What matters starts now.

I missed the comeback. I am ashamed of myself. But so oroud

Unbelievable, thank you MFC, what a game. The emotions I and my family feel for this club and even moreso through Covid lockdown you have given us so much.

Monkey off the back, to win the minor premiership in Geelong where the demolition occurred and for our caption to win the game after the siren it was the best script.

Job half done, let's bring the same intensity and string 3 games together like that.

Well done MFC. I love our club!

Oliver has the 3 votes and the Brownlow and the AFLCA for sure now.

Not sure about the Brownlow given the vagaries of its polling, but he HAS to have sewn up the AFLCA. Bont surely not polling this week.  Clarry was a monster tonight.

@Mr Steve

I was positive as I could be at half time and again at 3/4 time. But you post at the last break that we would make up a 6 goal deficit took being positive to the next level. Think it’s the post I have enjoyed the most since I joined demonland. Well done sir

I second that. Great work @Mr Steve.

How many of us were about to switch this game off....some surprised supporters in the morning.

When was the last time we won a game after the siren?

Has any team come from 44 points down at Geelong and win? Not for many years if at all.

But I had hope late in the third quarter.

Only happened once before.

Why did I stop watching in the second quarter!

Clayton Oliver is an absolute champion. If he wins the brownlow it will have been well and truly deserved.

Nothing better than beating Geelong in this way.

I turned it off too... it was too painful... but luckily I turned it back on at 3 quarter time!!!

I cant even understand how we won this.

I mean what did we do...who stood up more...or did cats slow down.

I dont even care.

I cant sleep.

This is the best come from behind win ever.

It’s either 3 or 2 votes. Bont won’t have polled last 3 weeks.

Magfcukingnificent!

Well old Dee do you believe, do you believe that we are the best team in the league, what a  last quarter, what a great team, what a great captain we have in Max.!!!!

I started brewing beer at 10am so I had my first beer at 10am, I’m now on the whisky and I’m shaking like a leaf. Seriously what a finish. And scarily we could play so much better but I’m loving the end and bring on the heart attack finals!

Clarry really does will the ball into his hands.  When we need him to step up he seems to find a way to get hold of it.  I've been pretty critical of his goal-kicking, but he's still winning us games even if he doesn't hit the goals as often as he should.  I've loved his last few weeks.

I thought we were throwing away our season

I feel you deever, and they’ve taught me a lesson. A very very very happy lesson.

A lot a people need to take back their angry, hate filled posts

This 100%.

It actually made me disgusted the stuff I saw at HT. There is venting, but then there is just, overexaggerated awful comments.

I hope they take no enjoyment out of tonight, or our finals campaign.

My daughter so [censored] she didn’t video my reaction after game, think I celebrated a bit excessively

My daughter did video mine and it’s now on Facebook getting all the lols. My arse crack is visible in one. Don’t even care. I’m hoarse.

We were , jumping up and down, shouting , crying, you name it!

That was one of the the best Captains  performances I’ve ever seen by Maxy.

That last quarter was gargantuan.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
