Game over. Umpiringย is a [censored] disgrace, but we missed our opportunities.

We desperately need to improve our goal kicking accuracy. We never kick more goals than points and itโ€™s directly costing us games now.

FMD. ย Salem held without ball - no free - goal to Dogs who just cannot miss

Our forward disposal is just disgraceful. ย Thanks Goodwin Williams and Yzeย

We will win this.ย

We look awful. Viney Langdon Harmes Salem Spargo ANB giving us absolutely nothing.ย
Once again relying on too few to do too much.ย

great we give away another goal in the last minute - great defensive football

they have 10 scoring shots to our 9 and lead by 19 - brilliant. Gotta love our forward coach.

tough conditions, but we are nowhere

Not a chance in hell we get close to winning the flagย

we don't have enough outside class

Been saying it for yearsย

Not to mention our forward line is trashย
ย

Time to start injuring them to compensate for the unfair umpiring.

Move onto next week. We cannot win this.

Typical shizen goal kicking and the umps have 100k on the doggies

Yep. All over. Disgraceful umpiring, rubbish football. Notย within a paddock ofย finals-worthyย intent.ย

Don't believe the stats our mids are getting smashed, our forwards are woeful.

[censored] goal kicking........AGAIN

i thought brown was supposed to be a sharp shooter

There is no question which team has dealt with the conditions better and the best team overall.

The scoreboard absolutely reflects that.

Umpiring not good but not the difference.

We will see what our players are made of after half time.

When TMac is quiet we struggle big time. But the umpiring and missing 3 sitters we coud be still in the game.

our goal kicking is our downfall unfortunately we lack skillful kicks like Breust for Hawks

First off our kicking for goal is whatโ€™s made us be 21ย points down. BUT FAIR BLOODY DINKUM THE UMPIRES MIGHT AS WELL BE WEARING BULLDOGS UNIFORMS. THEY ARE THROWING, THEY ARE BEING TACKLED BUT DONโ€™T DISPOSE OF IT, THEY ARE BEING GIVEN AN ARMCHAIR RIDE THIS ENTIRE MATCH. Chalk at least two goals against the umps.ย

On our side, we have to take our chances. 0.2 from Brown isnโ€™t only disappointing, itโ€™s deflating. Not just that he misses but that they are supremely gettable kicks, you would expect ANY AFL player to kick it let alone a FF whoโ€™s job it is to do exactly that. We actually had quite a bit of territory and decent opportunities but yet again butchered them. We have regressed back to what we did most of last year.ย

Worst part is, Iโ€™m still in hotel quarantine after watching us have they great run earlier this year and Iโ€™m genuinely wondering whether itโ€™s impossible for Melbourne to be a decent team while Iโ€™m in the country.ย

Seriously if BBB doesnโ€™t kick a match winning bag in the second half he needs to be dropped. ย Paid the big bucks and hasnโ€™t looked remotely like kicking either of those set shots. ย
Thoseย misses are just totally and momentum killingย

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
