Maybe shouldn't have rushed Butters back, eh?

Different leg I think

TMac two quick goals. That’s kept us in it here. If we keep the pressure up we’ll win. It’s all down to hunger now boys. Dig in and get the job done!

We're on top here

Just poor kicking again.

2g5b to 2g2b

Should be miles in front

Have to watch out for the hometown umpiring on the run home

This match can’t end soon enough.

Don't mind a good chicken kebab!

how was that not holding the ball by Powell-pepper took on two tackles and dropped the ball

And a failed fend-off. Very lucky he was on the boundary line and stepped over it

We were outplayed for 2/3 of that quarter but we still outscored them.

Great work Dees. Stay strong - 1Q to go.

Lucky end to the quarter.

We were outplayed and a little flat for most of that quarter so should have plenty in the tank to run over them now.

Thought Brown had a good QTR (and good game overall). Hasn't kicked a bag, I didn't think he would, but he's been present, in the right spots and delivered well into the 50. I reckon he'll sink one in Q4. A confidence building game so far.

Typo

We’ve extended our lead each quarter.

Time to step on the windpipe and smother the breath out of them.

Decent sized Dees crowd behind the goals. ❤️?

Rhetorical question - answer is easy. Port player at Adelaide Oval.

Good 2nd half of that quarter. We got back into it. That Langdon point hurt but luckily McDonald kicked a nice goal.

We have led all night and at times comfortably. Now is not the time to drop it.

Just need to take our opportunities and continue to attack.

Petty has been great tonight

Thanks you Tmac. Two massive goals. Let’s get the the first goal and finish them

It was his opposite foot. That being said, it sounded rushed anyway. Mid week I was thinking why would they. I think it’s unlucky and not related, but still a valid question.

Peps Pig caught with the ball - no free.

Holding the ball every day of the week! Pick up put out the don’t argue then spin into another tackle and handball over the line, yeah throw it in. Unbelievable.

TMac video of the week !

Brown + McDonald is like brownies and McDonald's - a winning combo.

Umps saw the free kick count at halftime and have evened up the ledger.

So now they can give them the dodgy ones in front of goal.

As an aside, where was the ‘What they are saying down at Alberton’ thread this week?

How many players can Powell Pepper take on?

Two and then handball deliberately over the line and no frees at all.  There are diff rules for this mob or whistle just gets put away with the obvious stuff on their side much of the time.

Gawny works Lycett off the ball in the ruck contest straight after but apparently you're not allowed to be strong in the contest!

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
