Was due diligence done on his back before he signed for us ?

Showed no respect for the jumper in the handful of games he played for us. Never forget him laughing it up with his ex Essendon teammates after a loss

Was a good stalwart for the Dees in his 3 games for the club.

Tarrant took a better mark on QB that year.

Whether it is the best mark ever taken is arguable. What is not in question is how incredible the photo is. Perhaps only the photo of Shai Bolton's mark earlier this year is better.

I always loved that people called him boxhead.

Incredible mark. Seriously mental when it happened. Other classic high flying marks like Shaun Smiths have been taken more out in front or on the chest. Moorcrofts mark was at full extension overhead from a great leap. It’s probably the best mark ever for that reason.

Had the pleasure of playing with him in U13s at Keon Park. Wouldn’t pass the ball ever to a teammate and would jump on your head to mark it if he was anywhere near it. He was ten levels above everyone else though. 

Why would u post this rubbish ? He did nothing for us except take up space. Selfish player with not much ability.

His career was over when he hit the ground. Fantastic Mark, but i will never understand why we recruited him.

He has continued to kick a ridiculous number of goals for Bundoora footy club in northern league and has been playing with his son given his longevity. We played a bit of cricket together and he was a handy batsman. https://www.zerohanger.com/gary-moorcrofts-still-go-it-6941/

My memory is that Corey McKiernan took an extraordinary mark that year, running with the flight of the ball into an oncoming pack. For me in terms of courage and degree of difficulty it outscored Moorecroft’s effort which is spectacular but if you get a step ladder in front of you with a high ball coming in, you can see how mere mortals might be able to do it. Where as those few spectacular marks you see where players run with the flight are something else, e.g. Jack Reiwolt’s effort this year. Jeremy Howe also took a screamer at the G some years back, running with the flight and somehow launched himself to take the ball on the shoulders of a stunned WC’s Embley.
