GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs GWS

Greene destroying Hibbo, getting smashed on the outside, Viney missing kicks.

We are lazy.

We lost this at selection.

Our fwd line has been struggling for weeks and we arrogantly do nothing about it.

We have to win the ball at the contest. Our plan to win it back in 50 is killing us around the contest.

You get the feeling this will be an absolute belting. Not great for a hangover. Might take the arvo off and check in later.

Have we been 25 points down at any point this year?

I won’t discuss implications for the season. Just this game. But we need to pull our finger out at clearances. They are getting a flood of forward 50’s.

No one flies for a mark and Davis takes it surrounded by 4 dees players.

We are super lazy today and this game is about to getaway from us in a biiiiiiiiig way.

If we win from here we are the real deal   but worried

Nah, the fact we are in this position shows we are pretenders.

Predictable rubbish down the flanks every flaming time kick it

Going to get a good old belting today. Just not top 2 or top 4 material for that matter. Yes defence is great but we are really poor in attacking.

remember the Giants have many starting 22 injuries while we are just about full squad.

Why the [censored] did marghetts stop the GWS player. It’s not for him to instruct players to avoid a further penalty.

We're being shown up by the Giants, a team beaten by the Hawks. For any one who has chosen to deny we've been on the slide for a while, here's some proof. We've found some ways to win some games, which is ok, but largely we've struggled, particularly against poor opponents, and this is yet another example.

Even if we find a way to win this, these half game brain fades just give teams unnecessary look ins for games.

This is embarrassing.

Good call. Game over now.

Last week bombers weren't  good enough. Gws are class and we're a 5 to 8th team.  Selection forward strategy non existent.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
