Don't know how I'd handle watching us win a flag at the GABBA while being in a stage 4 lockdown in Melbourne.

It would be a life long dream of so many die hard MFC members/supporters to see the boys win a flag live at the G.

I’d turn up to watch us play a grand final at Ballarat (or the Gabba) if it meant I got to see us win a flag.

I hope the delay is due to our executive trying Mafia style tactics to get the NT government to let us in.

Is SCG all of a sudden not available because the Saints and Swans cant play in Cairns.. its all just a giant (pardon the pun) mess.

be interested to know why Giants stadium over the SCG

SCG may have 3 other games this weekend, 4 games would make it very choppy by Sunday

It's a better ground , surface and size

Correct. SCG is a pointless stadium.

Apart from the money aspect, playing the Lions at Giant Stadium is a win for us. It is an easier trip than going to the NT and we play well there. Lions are not advantaged by this at all.

I know missing out on the money is really hard, especially for our club which has worked so hard to be financially independent of the AFL. But, in terms of purely football, this is not a bad outcome (if it is the outcome?!).

We really really need to beat the Lions, anyone who thinks the risk of playing at the Gabba is worth it, has lost their mind. Brisbane are directly competing with us for a top 2 spot. Imagine if we go to the Gabba and lose this game and as a result end up finishing 4th and needing to travel up there again in finals. No thank you!

This is the most important game of the our H&A season outside of last week. Make it 2 from 2 and top 4 is all but sewn up! Lose and suddenly we are par with the Dogs and Lions are only 1 game behind us.

I'd walk there if necessary ...

money deal from the Gabba/Qld govt perhaps

Qld just paid $8M for the NRL State of Origin that was to be held in Melbourne

Hi DJ. I thought that was off the table because of the entry requirements for people arriving from Victoria. Last week GC were due to play Hawthorn in Darwin but the game was moved to the SCG, even though it was a GC designated home game.

Giants ground is a good result. Rather  play there than NT. Money situation just about irrelevant now with Collingwood gone as well.

AFL club revenues are almost toast this season.

Same but given the length of time the G we deserve the G.

Cue the NT premier waking up with Horse Longmire's head in his bed. There's no note, but we all know what it means: "This is what happens when you try to make Melbourne play in Sydney."

I know I’m in the minority but as a sydney-sider I’m pumped!!

now where do I get tickets!!

Rub it in. I left my house for 40 minutes today to walk around the block with a mask. It was glorious.

Agree. Hopefully it’s not restricted like the GC game last year. Will be a few loud fans at Giants Stadium if the rumours are true

Oh boo hoo:

"The delay has cost the Swans two days of ticket sales.....They will also be unable to organise corporate functions due to the late notice. "

What about us? Top of the f***** ladder and still don't know where the [censored] we are playing!!!

This will be the best ever mystery flight if we win.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
