The dogs are good but let's not forget they struggled to beat Carlton and lost to Richmond. If we play our best we can win.

We can't carry any passengers tonight. Fritsch must perform and do the team stuff or back to Casey.

I think we will come out determined tonight.  They blew it last week and they knew it.

Last week I felt we didn't bring our 'game face' of earlier games when goals were taken in their stride with little fanfare/celebration and quickly ready for the next play.  Handballs were targetted and purposeful.

Last week I saw the 'hollywood hand ball' come back.  Early goals received more than their usual backslapping/laughing.  They celebrated hard after Clarry's last goal thinking the game was won so forgot to defend a very good lead.

Tonight I want to see that steely 'game face' again.  The one which says:  we are here to be serious.

Win, lose or draw if the boys arrive and play with the same intensity that got most of our wins this year I'll enjoy the show

Carn Demons, the opportunity for the biggest statement we've made in decades awaits

Be interesting to see what difference the roof off makes to the conditions tonight.

It's going to be a cold and still night which might make the surface dewy and slippery which won't overly excite the Dogs.

But I don't see the roof off as being much of a factor if any.

Especially from Tracc...

Dogs easily they will be too talented for us. The early shine has come off the last couple of weeks,  we still have a number of players who fade when the real pressure comes on and one who is not senior standard in tonights game.

Dogs by 8.

Disappointed at not being able to attend but happy the game will go ahead. The karma train has caught up with the tigers and the dogs are set to miss out on a $300k windfall tonight so we're not doing too badly all considered.

I don't mind the dogs but it would be nice if I can strut around my 5km radius wearing the club beanie tomorrow, even if I can only go as far as Wefo.

Definitely not the Sunday graveyard timeslot this week. Hope the boys approach the spotlight in the same way they did against the Tigers for Anzac Day eve. The doggies are good but not invincible. If the Blues can nearly scalp them, then we're more than a good show of knocking them off.

Back to top of the table please boys.

Roof will be closed.

I reckon our side looks better than the WBD on paper* with Treloar, Dunkley and Martin out.

Tips for medical Sub??

Tonight we're the hunters again (which I kind of prefer).

We need to bring fire from the first bounce to show the Doggies what they're in for.

The game against the Blues shows that the Doggies can be exposed. The Blues couldn't finish the job, but we're not the Blues. So if we start early, we send the message and never let go. Kind of like bulldogs when they latch on to something.

Probably not BBB.

Sparrow as he's next cab off the rank in terms of best available.

I was thinking Sparrow and Chandler need to log some minutes at Casey but there's no VFL games this weekend.

Not sure I agree. Their fwd is a lot better than ours. Midfield they might be slightly ahead aside from ruck. We have the Much better defence. So I’d shade it to them

Strut around whatever the result Rab.

Ideally you would play a guy like Joel Smith as your medical sub. If a mid goes down you can cover through rotations but if a KPP goes down it becomes harder. When Tomlinson went down it was Jones that came on. IIRC he played well but he certainly didn't cover the Tomlinson loss.

Who would I pick.. hard to say but perhaps Baker or Daw ..... (if only they were a notch or two better)

Methinks Mitch Hannan might not be terribly upset at the no crowds thing. He won’t have to hear anyone booing every time he goes near the ball.

he's out injured (as per the norm)

Just now, whatwhat say what said:

Oh, I did not know that. But yeah, of course he is ‘injured’

Is it just me, or with everything else going on in Victoria the last 3 days, this game has sort of dropped off to the back of the mind?

I was pumped about it last week, but maybe it is also my MFCSS. I am fully preparing myself for a big loss tonight.

It's kind of an asides, in the context of tonight's game, but I've been thinking lately that Sparrow really needs to log some more time at AFL level.  Jordon has been good, but I'm not sure he's that much better than Sparrow right now and I think we really need to rotate these two in and out of the team for some decient blocks of games for the sake of both their development and ready made depth for the team.

They just don't want to admit that the stadium is a dump and the roof being open makes it that much worse.

Advantage Bulldogs here. They love to play in sterile environments with no wind.
