And if i were you i'd be recommending you stop ingesting calf fetus. Despite what you've read, it won't help. At least it won't help your hammy - you might be protected against pagan demons

It's all just a "big hammys" conspiracy...

Aaron Rodgers from the NFL when asked prior to the season “I’m immunised”… he went to some healer but wasn’t vaccinated. He’s got covid.

I think the next season has the potential to become quite compromised. We no longer have the protection of lockdowns to keep the players out of Covid's way so it is only inevitable that more players will become infected during the season proper.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the AFL. Will a game will be postponed if 1 player is positive in the lead up, 3 players? 5 or 10? Will teams have to forefeit if they cannot field their best 22 due to Covid. Will we have compromised schedules again. The risk of infection is probably the greatest it will ever be and the government will only call another lockdown if cases start to put pressure on the hospital system (probably around the 5K-10K per day mark). European & American competitions will give us a good indication as to what to expect as they start to head into winter.

Those that think COVID is done and dusted should think again. The vaccines are good but not the silver bullet we were all sold and we all have to figure out how we live with COVID and what daily risks we are willing to take in light of this disease.

NHL in North America is going through issues with this, the Ottawa Senators have 9 players in covid protocol. NHL teams are allowed 23 active players so it’s a massive chunk of the team.
They can bring players up from the minor league (the 2nds or even the 3rds).

Just had a dream last night that the entire AFL moved to WA and SA from round 18 2022 due to COVID on the COVID  Eastern sea board

We made the GF which was transferred to Adelaide Oval.

Happy Friday everyone.

Did some aliens steal us and drop us off at the AO?

not sure I could handle missing 2 in a row.

It's kind of extra amusing because May was in fact able to play due to behavioural science manipulations and a deliberate conspiracy to withhold health information from him . . .

Of course, your faith is waning already rjay?

So has Liam refused pain killing injections to get him through a game before or has he trusted the science of what is in the said painkiller??

The lad in question is still dealing with a loss and is not in a healthy state of mind.  Mental health related

Those who broke the story knew about the issues but failed to even mention the background issues at all.  Poor form

For me, he gets the benefit of doubt for now.  All things considered

He literally cannot attend his essential job - he’s fair game.

I’m sorry to hear his mental health is poor but that shouldn’t stop fair reporting of newsworthy events.

Such as the fact he’s in the middle of a completing a massive donut.

Fair reporting would have noted his state of mind and mental health issues ... as well as his ongoing grieving with regards to a loss

Our own Kozzie was given an extended time in Adelaide to grieve with regards to a loss ... these sorts of things can effect people in different ways

We should hold fire until more details emerge ... there is more to the story other than passing up on the money and jeopardising his own position (in my view)

Carlton have given the lad another month to sort things out

I can see your side of the argument but we've now got some new information to process

Nothing happy about another season without seeing the boys play when it matters

So Liam Jones has decided to retire because he won't get the covid vax.

So I'm guessing he has never had  a pain killing injection for an injury and he has a back up plan.

Most jobs these days require the jab and I guess travel is off for him to.

Can't believe he is throwing his career away. But it's his choice I guess.

Its fair to say this pandemic has really impacted people in different ways. He is only 30 years old and in great form.

When people are willing to give up their livelihoods and careers to remain unvaxxed something is not right and reflects the sad situation of what our Country it heading down.

I’m looking at it as a glass half full. In Victoria 92% (and climbing) are doing the right thing and getting vaccinated. That’s an incredible effort. The media need to focus on the outliers because they help keep peoples attention, but the numbers tell the truth.

People are free to disagree, but it’s to their own detriment. We should let them disagree, while focussing on the positives. If some of this stuff gets less oxygen then it runs out of steam.

It’s like complaining about losing to Collingwood in the year you’ve won the flag. Does it suck? Yes. Will it be remembered, or make any difference to how history interprets the year, and the overall effort? No.

I dislike anyone who peddles anti vaccine misinformation. But I have a degree of sympathy for the victims of that misinformation.

Particularly if they’re refusing the vaccine for incorrect families reasons etc.

We have to do more to counter the misinformation particularly on social media and to bring people back in to society.

All of that said, Liam surely has access to as many doctors and scientists as possible to talk this over. It’s a shame none of them have got through to him.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.
