Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

AFL website also says Baker omitted.

Will be interesting to see who the emergencies are as the medi sub will be one of them.

Edit:  just saw the emergencies.  would expect Chandler or Sparrow to get that gig.

My god how is  Melksham still in..

If there is a one blight on this season it's Goodwin continuing to play his best mate week in week out.

Harmes in is a joke in itself.

Yeah look I feel for Sparrow. But maybe they want the experience of Harmes against a fairly robust experienced midfield. Perhaps he will do a job on Kennedy.
Baker must be the medical sub.

Melksham must do something the coaches really rate. I don’t see it. But we are 7-0 so I can’t say they don’t know what they’re doing.

I like many others cannot see the value in Melksham staying in the side.

To be fair I believe Jones adds greater value as a defensive high half forward.

Unbelievable.

Melksham brings strong delivery inside 50 and should get better with more games. But he's on thin ice.

Harmes I suspect is being brought in as a defensive midfielder to roam wing and put pressure on their transition out of defense which is generally quite strong and could be damaging on the MCG where they normally play well (and destroyed Richmond doing just that). Suspect Harmes will play a Houli-esque role as a small cut-off. Looking forward to him grabbing a few intercept marks across half back and proving many here wrong.

I'm okay with these changes.

End of the day Melksham provides more scoreboard pressure than Jones so he has an opportunity to make a difference here. He certainly struggled last week but his delivery was good and he got hs going in the 3rd quarter.

I think we can all agree Melkshams efforts are poor at times but if you can’t see his talent or upside you must be blind

whether that should be enough to be in the side is another thing

I like the changes.  In the interest of consistency and maintaining the chemistry a 'like-for-like' player is the best way to go especially as we are still needing to assimilate Brown into the team and structures.

Right now Harmes offers more options than Sparrow so I'm ok having the more experienced guy in the team.  He will be raring to go to make this work and keep his position in the team.  I'll back him in.  Plenty of time for Sparrow.

I reckon Jones might be the sub quite often. He doesn’t really need week in week out football in the VFL and is an experienced head to steady things if we cop an injury.

This week may be the exception though, as it’s not the like Chandler or Sparrow are going to miss a VFL hit out if they are the sub.

Based on last weekend's Casey game, I had a clear leaning towards Sparrow over Harmesy.  So be it!  More than happy to leave it in the (proven) capable hands of our Match Committee, and delighted that we have strong options (an unusual delight in recent years).

Heeney out for the Swans

What a shame, bad luck, almost a tragedy. Then again, one rather keen opponent down, who's next?

Swans have had the wood on us for far to long.

It’s time to end their streak. (And i am thinking we will provided we don’t play like we did in the first half against north).

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
