Watching this guy in the last quarter, I honestly believe that he is our next bona fide superstar. Quiet for three quarters, then someone or something flicked the switch. His marking became clean and precise, and his delivery by hand was perfect. He will improve his set shot kicking I'm sure, and will boot a few bags in the future.

Yep, just got to fix the kicking, but Jackson and Kossie up forward, entertaining times to come

He was okay. Bordering on good. Hard for any one player to have much influence today. There were a few games last year that showcased what he is capable of more than today.

Very reminiscent of a young David Schwarz the way that he moves.  His marking has improved - his kicking will too.

I couldn't agree more.  Things just seemed to click for him.  Possibly on the back of that big chase and contest for the loose ball on our 50 that ended with him giving away a highly dubious high contact free?  That was awesome to see him just put on the afterburners and charge through.

Now we just need someone to chat with him about his set shot routine...

A very young ruckman able to develop while playing a role adequately at the top level is nothing to be scoffed at.  Would be entirely happy if over the course of this season he just became enough of a potential headache that opponents have to take him seriously and make our mix of talls even harder to plan for.

Really is teasing us.  He has potential superstar qualities. Still raw. His kicking needs to be developed to fulfill.  Fantastic athletic ability.

What if Tmac keeps playing like he did today and Jackson keeps improving?

A nice problem to have but I wonder how Weid and Brown fit into the equation.

Was thinking the same

That pack mark was an absolute ripper

Hopefully a few more of those and all the naysayers who reckon he was too expensive at pick 3 will shut up

Was talking about this with my mates after the game, he is a strong mark, just needs to work on his goal kicking.

Wasn't Johno Brown going to help Weed this year, maybe we could also get him to help LJ with some goal kicking?

If T Mac continues to play like he did today then clearly Jackson or Weid misses out.

Wait and see on the marking. It hasn’t been great so far.

I loved some of his tackling and the way he was full of running in the last.

Plus the way he can land from marking and keep moving is off the charts.

We need to kick it where he can run and jump across a pack more than sit it high like we do for Gawn.

He will explode soon as long as he doesn’t get hurt

huge talent that Choco will love to work with

Yze can teach him how to nail a goal at the G hopefully. His marking in the last quarter was very promising. Will benefit from Brown being in the side.

Tommy will wind up on the wing using his aerobic capacity to cruise up and down the ground all day.  He took some really nice contested marks today as the outlet from defence.

Already a very handy player with just about as much upside as any player in the competition.

Very promising from Jackson. His kicking was as bad as the rest of the team.

What this kid is pulling off at such a young age is completely flying under the radar. He’s going to be a top level talent for sure. After some lean years at the draft, we def nailed that one with Jackson, Pickett and Rivers.

Looked hesitant and unsure for most of the game. I’m a big fan but he’s far from the finished article. Plenty of improvement left yet.

Pretty good for his 7th game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That piece of play from him was exhilarating! Pity he gave away a free kick, a 50 and missed the goal. But it offered a glimpse of his game changer potential, even if it'll ultimately go down as a clanger.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
