Quite honestly I wish they would SFA and just play.

They didn't look particularly angry on the weekend.

They are just working up to it. Anger management takes time.

The Bee Gee's have nailed my feelings.

You think that I don't even mean
A single word I say
It's only words and words are all I have
To take your heart away.

It is just bending over and blowing smoke. Part of the Melbourne pre season ritual.

Yep - just words. I get that the feelings are probably real, but using them to motivate and then perform is a different story. (And that those feelings sustain them throughout the season, come what may...)

I love Max, but I really wish he would stay away from this kind of stuff. As one of the most senior and longest serving players on the list, he is more responsible than most for us underachieving over the past decade.

And why would he possibly want to drag us until the Lumumba mess?

As well as anger, I'd like there to be some fear. Fear of having weakness exposed. Fear of being found out as a hypocrite. Fear of the supporters coming up the drive with torches lit and sharpened pitchforks....

Gawn talks so much BS I miss the Viney days.

If they think our backline is top 4 they are deadset kidding themselves.

Not to mention how delusional they must’ve been in the lead up to the Cairns games.

There’s little hope that they’ve found the discipline required to nail down skills, team work and intensity at the contest.

Choc might’ve helped a little with the skills but Yze will have to be a genius to sort out the team work

No comment is still a comment. I wouldn’t have called his 2 years with us great but otherwise I think he was on the right path.

Perhaps start with feeling ashamed - when the chips were down, the Demons failed to deliver.  It was in their own hands and they stuffed it up.  They should be angry with their attitude and application.  Hold each other to account for once.  Then get over it and play like you want to be there.

Yep, more words.  A few years back they would have sold memberships but I think any Melbourne supporter is sick of words.

Not much about what actions are coming on, after being angry. What are they going to do with that energy?

Are they stronger, faster, more skilled, stronger willed, or ready to play when under pressure?

Leave it to the coaches plan and buy in! Is there a different game plan being worked on?

Is it an inclusive anger, are they all angry, or just the leadership?

Are they in it together or just the core group? Some are more equal than others at the MFC.

Is it only anger that we didn't make finals. Why aren't they angry about our weak mental state and years of substandard culture.

Angry about our Cairns games! What about our not playing four quarters every week (fade outs), lack of pressure on opponents, our unforced errors, or of the inside 50 conversion rate.

Will they be smarter and more accountable to each other?

Who are they angry at, each other?

What are they going to do with that energy?

Lots of question need to be answered by this group.

Has anything changed?

I think we will know by about round 5 if it is fugazi.

I'm more interested in the article that was linked in the gawny one that said:

'Fremantle’s depth will be put to the test immediately with four first-choice players to miss early stages of the season after a casualty-ridden pre-season derby clash with West Coast last weekend.

Big man Rory Lobb avoided a need for surgery on the right knee he injured in Sunday’s clash at Optus Stadium but will have to wear a brace for approximately six weeks.....

All-Australian forward Michael Walters, 30, suffered a hamstring injury and scans showed he would likely miss three to four weeks.

Youngsters Bailey Banfield (syndesmosis) and Mitch Crowden (calf), who were pushing for selection against Melbourne in round one, would also miss the early part of the season.'

Yeah thats great that Freo have good players out and they will still beat us.

There is still a lot of work to do "between the ears" of our players.

We‘re definitely going to lose now.

I really don't know what some people expect Gawn to say.  Of course it means little.  Given that he has to say something in this modern era, I'd like to see critical posters post some press releases here that are significantly better.

Oh wow. So they'll be angrier than after 2019 when they didn't fire a shot. Which was angrier than after 2018 when they grabbed their ankles for WCE. In turn angrier than after 2017 when they let Collingwood give them a lesson in pride and spirit. Angier than after 2016 when they gave Carlton a taste of what it must be like to play on the winning side of 186.

Can a man be that angry and not have his head burst?

That small mountain you see behind me is made of all the grains of salt I took this latest mission statement with.

Don't [censored]ing tell us. Shut up and play. The scoreboard will tell us how "angry" you are.

Gee these guys really just don't seem to get it. So much talk and so many efforts like the one vs. Port last year...didn't look like there was a burning desire to make a success of the season.

They are only words. I hope they cause some change. I want to see actions.

However, when anger is brought up, would also like to hear that they are going to put that pain onto other teams. Especially on Freo, being our next up game.

Hurt them on the scoreboard Dees.
