Seriously...................FFS

For a bloke that pots Goodwin.... for being obstinate, and now all of a sudden the bloke (FD) is following a blueprint.

It's been clear that Goodwin does things his own way, is ahead of the curve, is a student of the game (whatever cliche you want).. he is innovative and has been undone tactically. He does it his way, he follows no one...he is a [censored] student of the game

(i just read over that... i am not his mother).

So how can it be that he listens to no-one, has no game plan (allegedly) but follows [censored] boring trends of other teams(that win matches). Goodwin has a list that is currently 3 years ahead of the competition (just like all you [censored] on here who want success now, with the 'list we have' because its good enough)... just like Hardwick was 3 years ahead of the rest of the competition...before they started winning flags...and before anyone (media, competition, pundits could spot it). therefore its not quantifiable, in the ways that we prefer.. for the @Sir Why You Little's and @Kent'S out there, who have no more excuses that have said the same $hite for decades as if their happiness in life depends on it.

He clearly IS NOT building a team like Richmond, if you cannot see that... god help you.

yep hump day beers in me...

Thanks Simon

Go to bed now...

Super pick, WJ.

My thinking, and it really is only my thinking and not based on anything else, is that they'll get Pickett, Laurie and Bowey in the side and at least one of those, maybe two, will develop into players who can play through the midfield and up on a wing.  I could easily see Pickett on a wing, or even in a few centre bounces, in the coming years.

Just because they are smaller types does not mean they have to stay as forward for their careers.

Reckon it could be based on round 1 when we went with Spargo, Bedford, Pickett and ANB all in the one side?

We then had Spargo and Pickett suspended, and Bedford didn't do enough, so we went with Bennell, ANB, and, Hunt.

We tried the mozzy fleet early this year, but didn't have the right cattle.

Could be the voltaren I’ve applied to my groin, but I’ve got a good feeling about this kid.

His highlights package reminded me a bit of Melksham the way he lowers his eyes and pinpoints a low pass into 50. But then he went and tackled someone and the comparison was lost.

How did he have a jumper ready to go? He was in the 20s, not number 1. This has seriously got me confused.

Draft was held in October. Tonight was just for show.

I believe he was at a venue where there were a few draftees. They mentioned petracca was there earlier. Perhaps he left it there in case we took one of the players there.

Looks pretty smart. Reminds me a little of Kane Lambert.

Connors Sports held a draft party, would've had jumpers and/or polos ready for every club. The man is a pro.

Vic Metro Draft Combine:
Running Vertical Leap – 71cm
Speed (20m) – 3.06 seconds
Endurance (2km) – 6:24

I love the skills and baulks. He's just not super quick and doesn't seem to have an explosive overhead game. So he'll be best used as a midfielder/high half forward than a crumbing speedy small.

The quicker we get him on ball to get a different mix and some skill the better.

He's more Shane Edwards/Higgins than Rioli/Bolton IMO.

Should list him as a midfielder and develop him as such. The gamble is he didn't get to play midfield for the Chargers due to how strong they were last year and missing this year.

all based on the fact that you haven't seen him play live once. lol.

The highlights look very impressive. Evasiveness, hitting targets, tackling. with a couple of check side goals for good measure.

If he can develop and reproduce these skills at AFL level then we have a real player on our hands. Melksham has competition, finally.

Small forward. Skilled. Evasive.

And a beautiful, precise kick, either for goal or to a leading forward

Gee onion you have very little to say other than to reflect negatively on others

I'm in august company with @Sir Why You Little Thanks for that!

You have your view, I have mine. I don't belittle yours so You and your excuses for Goodwin should  be only read in the context that somehow you defend him with all you have and of course, excuses, and remember there is always next year. You also have said the same [censored] for years whatever relevance that has.

Good luck to you and remember we are allowed an opinion on here.

One of my staff is a friend of the family. Apparently a very close family and he has his head screwed on right. According to her, the boy can play but I guess she would say that.

Welcome Bailey laurie, fast evasive and can really kick the ball, boy have we been looking for you, what a pick up. I think that the smile said it all. Well done JT and team three pearlers that fill the gaps that we had on the list. Two Baileys on the list and hopefully we will see them run out together some time in the near future.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harvey would be great FND but he also reminds me of that red head from Bombers who used to haunt us (his surname eludes me??). Ha ha.!!

A nice read: https://afl.draftcentral.com.au/2020/05/27/marquee-matchups-joshua-clarke-vs-bailey-laurie/

Other thing that I keep reading about Laurie is that he set himself to play finals in a really hard team to crack last year (Oakleigh with Rowell and Anderson) and got there and had an impact. Ended up as one of the best on ground in the grand final and it was his best game all year. Clearly an upward trajectory and works hard.

Wow another small forward...  I like it.  We didnt have one on our list two years ago now we are loaded.

Maybe following the Tigers blueprint?

Both have shown on these reels that they pass very well up to 50m - particularly by foot - and take accurate set shots on the run up to 50m as well; these latter indicators suggest rather strongly that the both could take static set shots at goal from 60m out with above-average accuracy. As for front-and-centre, leading to receive the ball and pick-up / delivery, both impress and so do with speed and awareness. Jolly good recruiting stuff for senior, faster-paced footy.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
