Rip roaring deal for us.

We got Preuss for Tyson and a pick in the 60s, and now we off load him two years later for pick 31.

Demand and Supply at work:  Lots of interest in Preuss.  Not much (if any) in Brown.

Altho will wait and see if anything is attached to 33 for Brown.

Braydon played a good game against Grundy and that is why his value skyrocketed to a pick in the second round.

Good Ruckmen means you must pay a premium since they don't grow on trees.

MFC traded Jolly for pick 15.

Well I hope Pruess does well for himself. Showed initiative in coming to develop alongside Big Max.

GWS will have plenty of early picks if the Cameron deals goes through

can’t use them all so that pick has less value to them than us

sensible trade all round id say

hope Brandon does ok and gets a fair go but just stinks it up against us ?

Haha, like clockwork every year.

Two weeks before trade period: "Mahoney's [censored]. WTF is he doing? Why haven't we landed the player we need already?! Melbourne being bent over again!"

First week of trade period: crickets...

Final few days and hours: "Well done, Mahoney. Well done, MFC."

I must admit Josh Mahoney has been involved with dealing for draft picks and improving our position in the national draft for a number of years now  and is getting better by the year.

31 for Preuss is a great get.  Well done Josh and co.

Most held off having a swing until the deal was invariably done. Preuss was always going to land a second rounder. Two years left on his contract and a commodity like a ruckman (yes, I know, I don't rate them, but clearly other clubs do) and it was always likely he'd be able to fill a #1 ruck spot.

Well done, MFC though. ;)

Demons get really good value in the trade and GWS will be perfectly content with their side of the bargain. We've managed to maintain a sustained pattern of that mutual satisfaction with multiple clubs over multiple years.

Mahoney's enthusiastic endorsement of Preuss after the deal was done is good form, too. I guess you can feel comfortable doing that when you've got the champion on your list already.

Be funny if (and seems likely that) Tom McDonald ends up being traded for a lesser pick as well as with salary subsidy. Trade value is a strange market and I'm glad to have people on hand who are always looking for the small, astute gains.

Good luck Braydon. Hope you do well at GWS. The rest of the team, not so much. Hope they all fall by the wayside.?

31 means nothing unless it is used wisely. I’ll celebrate if it’s used in a player trade, bundled up for better, or used to pick a kid  that will become best 22. Otherwise it means nothing

I’ll miss Preussy .

He was killing it at Casey.

Remember a game against Essendon at Windy Hill in 2018. Marked everything plus kicked a few goals.

Good luck at GWS

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
