GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs Essendon

Featured Replies

What a rubbishy and boring game of footy.
Must be time for a beer.

Oliver's goal, again.

Sick to death of his hot potato handballs to complete disadvantage of team mates, rather than taking responsibility himself.

Nothing to see here though says @Dr.D

rubbish hand ball oliver

Two absolute shockers so far

How F’ing typical to crap in our own nest. Poor by Baker to not keep his feet. Why is Smith out there?

How many years will we keep wasting forward opportunities with [censored] kicking and ball use?

I what this season to be done. I’m over watching the same [censored] every week.

Can they actually kick the ball instead of criss crossing the ground with hand balls. Essendon wait for the mistakes.

These guys are so [censored].

Glad this season will be over this weekend.

Seriously dumb

Good seats, ****house game.

We look lost and jogging around the ground like a training drill. Good work all round so far.

well they are certainly not playing like a team playing for a place in the finals, and quite frankly they have done nothing to deserve to be in the finals.

Terrible quarter. Keeping them in the game. Fritsch can't kick for [censored].

I'd be telling Fritch to lay off the next time he marks inside 50. His kicking for goal is costing us.

I thought Weideman had a really strong block of form in the middle of the year. He's been utterly useless in the second half of the season. He gets pushed aside by the weakest of bodying.

Without him taking grabs or bringing the ball to ground, our forwardline obviously doesn't function.

Oliver's disposal by hand was shocking that quarter.

Essendon look thoroughly ordinary. We should win easily, but we find ourselves a few points down. Hopeless.

just terrible ! that last two minutes

bunch of selfcentered selfish selfimportant primadonnas

Bit early to write us off. We were the better team just poor execution

Honestly you could sit down and write the script for this. Talk about a tragedy in 4 acts.

Geez they can make an easy game look really hard

Bombers goals from turnovers

oliver ?

OVERHANDBALLING ????

Frittta ??and Spargo ?misses

We are shizzzzzzzn and dumb

get it right and we win !!!

Every week we have heard from the commentators about Melbourne's "stars".

Most clubs would kill for a line of Gawn Viney Oliver Petracca, throw in Salem, AVB as well.

We just play such one dimensional football. We aren't getting the most out of these guys.

Just now, Stevienic23 said:

We're playing alright. Just not finishing our work at the moment. Not panic stations yet

Essendon are [censored] rubbish and we are making them look bloody brilliant with our pathetic use of the football, our soft tackling (AVB aside) and a non existent game plan.
Nothing is more predictable than Melbourne chocking. Nothing.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
