Demonland 74,327 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 The 2020 Brownlow Medal count will be a virtual event on Sunday, October 18, on the Seven Network. Quote
Engorged Onion 10,224 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 1.Neale 2.Boak 3. Petracca He has had a fine year Trac, at times he wasn't as effective - but I'd hope he would be 18-22 votes range. 2 Quote
Graeme Yeats' Mullet 6,791 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Non-event on both counts 1 Quote
Lucifers Hero 40,708 Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 (edited) Article on Club website: brownlow-medal-form-guide-a-round-by-round-preview Predicted Melbourne Leaderboard: 18 – C.Petracca 7 – M.Gawn 7 – S.May 7 – C.Oliver 5 – J.Viney 4 – A.Brayshaw 3 – E.Langdon 2 – B.Fritsch Will be interested to see how many votes Oliver gets. It always seems odd that he polls so few, even in AA or winner of BnF years. Plenty of players score highly in poor performing teams so do not think that is the reason. And its hard to think the umps don't notice him. Just wonder whether he is still suffering from the false claims of 'staging' in his early years. Edited October 17, 2020 by Lucifer's Hero Quote

Demonstone 23,549 Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 A few weeks ago, I had the most vivid dream that Jackson Macrae from the Bulldogs won the Brownlow this year. In the dream, I wondered if they meant Toby McLean but somebody said that he was injured. The very next game, McLean got injured!! So convinced was I by this dream that I went to the local TAB to put money on Macrae at very enticing odds, but the agency's machines were down and the bet couldn't be placed. I intended to return at a later date, but caution kicked in and I've decided to keep my money in my pocket in the expectation that either Lachie Neale will win comfortably or Petracca will prevail. That bloody Macrae better not win. 3 Quote
whatwhat say what 23,808 Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 (edited) macrae is totes winning now like everyone it's hard to imagine the maggots going past neale as a regular 3-voter, and trac should canter away with our votes i would love to see him or boak get it, but it'd be hard to begrudge neale - had an incredible year Edited October 17, 2020 by whatwhatsaywhat Quote
Pennant St Dee 13,429 Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 Neale, Boak and Trac are the common top 3 across most media outlets. There's always an outsider who goes close. I think Gaff will poll ver well and think Gray, SPP and some of Ports young brigade will take votes away from Boak, to see Trac jump him. I think Lyons, Mcluggage, Rich and Zorko may take votes from Neale but not enough. Top 6 1. Neale 2. Trac 3.Gaff 4. Boak 5. Danger 6. Mcrae Quote

Lucifers Hero 40,708 Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 Had a look at the AFL Predictor brownlow-medal/predictor and Petracca is on 18 votes. However, it has not scored him votes in rnd 6 vs GCS, rnd 8 vs Lions and 17 vs Giants. The coaches gave him 7, 7, and 6 in those rounds. So he may get a few more than 18. I don't think he will overtake Neale but votes in those 3 rounds could be enough to overtake Boak. Note: the 3,2,1 by round in the mfc article differ occasionally to the AFL Predictor. Quote
gs77 4,612 Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 Kinda bummed Rowell did his shoulder. May have been a chance to take out the medal if he'd played the season out - what a ridiculous debut season that would have been! He was on fire early. 2 Quote

Bring-Back-Powell 15,529 Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 Gawn managed 4 votes across those two ordinary MCG losses we had. Expect him to poll 3-5 more votes in the NSW hub games and be near the top of the table after round 7. 1 Quote
