Gold Coast losing it rather than Pies winning it.

That free and 50 to Crisp was a disgrace

What do you mean? Disgraceful by Ellis or the call by the umpire?

No. We cost our own season.

Tongue and Cheek DD, relax.

Damn shame.

Thought the Suns were the better team tonight, but just couldn’t capitalize.

First nail in the coffin of our season goes in.

I thought the Pies were the most likely to drop out, but that’s gone now. GC really could have won this with a bit more composure. That Holman play on in the goal square to put them in front right on 3 quarter time summed it up.

Umpires sure followed Gil's and Eddie's orders in the last quarter.

Agree. Holman was a tool. 3 metres out !!!

Pies win...

Strike 2.....

Hey watch out for the Suns in years to come. ??
Still over exaggerating their talent imo

That 'superstar' Rankine is just a Kent Kingsley in disguise too

Geez the Suns are a frustrating team to watch. They could have easily won that if they had more composure. A lot of dumb players too.

Holman again you [censored]

I'd love to check his bank statement after tonight's performance.

It would read something like this

Miscellaneous payment  CR;  $50,000

Agree. Played a good first game. So over hyped. Then done zero since. Frustrating type who loves a trick shot but no pressure or hard running !!!

Harbrow and Holman right at the top of this list.

Well that was disappointing.

But not nearly as disappointing as us losing to Sydney.

Complain all you want about Holman, Harbrow, Swallow, Cox or the umpires, but it all shouldn't matter.

True dat ...

GC had chances but blew it.

I hate the filth.

18 frees to 8 in Mudpies’ favour.  Similar disposal numbers.

That small crowd managed to influence them.

There were some inexcusable errors by the umpires, none of whom should get a final.

( but Margetts will, in Perth, and help his boys over the line.)

Think his point was more that if we didn’t [censored] up repeatedly losing to bottom teams then none of these results would be relevant.

We’ve done this to ourselves.

100%

I think it's fine for us to hope for results to fall our way (and of course seeing the filth miss is just an absolute bonus) but at the end of the day our club blew it with the opportunities laid out in front.

So we now move to Friday night for the next instalment of a slow and agonising death........

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
