Game on Saturday evening.  Prime Time FTA.

As to changes?  Anyone's guess!

Not sure what everyone else thinks, but with finals pretty much out of the picture, you've got to look towards next year.

So, give the kids like Pickett, Bedford, Baker etc another crack.  Get Lockhart in there.  As much as I love him, keep Jetta out of there and I'd keep Jones out as well, although you get the feeling his season is done.

I'd keep Gus out of the side for the year with the footy injury.  Even if he is close to full fitness, I'd keep Jackson out until next year.  No need to stick him in there for no reason.

So, going by the above I'd go... er....

In:  Lockhart, Brown (goes against everything in terms of looking to the future, but a bloke with no arms could do better than Preuss in the forward line.)

Out:  Hibberd (give the ankle a rest), Preuss.

But, really, it's a bit 'meh' this week.

Only problem with this is that someone will be trying to save their job so who know what selections will be made.

who cares that's what I say. Against stkilda we were [censored], the bulldogs we were more [censored], versus Sydney we were even more [censored] and against Fremantle we were equally as [censored].

Play the 2nds.

Out: Oliver, Viney, Melksham, Lever, Gawn, Hibbs.

In:  Dunkley, Chandler, Hore, Spargo, Brown, Tmac.

See if they are any good.

Play Spargo as a mid for Vines, can he get the ball.

Chandler for Melksham in the hope we can develop some crumbing forwards who also have defensive abilities.

Dunkley for Oliver. Give Oliver a good break and get him primed for next year. The same for Lever (Hore).

Gawn needs the break. Emotionally and physically stretched.

Give Tmac a chance to resurrect his career as a backman, to replace Hibbs.

If we make the finals then they will be well freshened up,

Petracca and May, stay for the leadership and that they are holding us together.

Play the kids.

Baker, Bedford, Rivers, Pickett, Sparrow. Play them for the rest of the year.

Play Bennell for the last 2 games to give him the confidence going into next year. Give him a 1 year deal.

The only immediately obvious move I'd make would be to drop Preuss for one of TMac and Brown.

Maybe we go with TMac to see if his time out of the side has motivated him and he can find some form.

I remain of the view that Melksham should be dropped but that almost certainly won't happen.

I'm all for playing kids but Bedford was so poor last night I'm not sure we're setting the right standards by playing him. But I'd absolutely keep Baker, Pickett and Rivers in the side.

If Hore's fit, I'd consider giving him a game in Hibberd's spot if Hibberd is sore.

I'm not sold, at all, on vandenBerg or ANB. Would be more than happy for Bennell to get one of their spots.

If a line has already been put through a player's name for 2021, that player shouldn't play again this year. I don't know who that might be, but I want us playing the future, not the past.

While I'm sympathetic to the idea of Jetta (if he is retiring, voluntarily or not) and Jones (if he's suitably fit and retiring, voluntarily or not) getting a farewell game, I don't think that's the right message to send when the coach has just talked about the club being tougher. Perhaps if there was a game at the MCG I might think differently.

We should select the best side available. All of the boys have a crack. They use it every day unless constipated which a lot of them look like they are. Tom McDonald should come back . Brown should be played if fit. Otherwise why was he recruited at his age? Jetta should be played. He’s a great player. VandenBerg should play. Don’t play the VFL fringe players. Delist them instead.

Decisions would already be made on most uncontracted players at this stage, so we stop wasting games on smith and hunt. fritsch looked better without melky at HF so a small in spargo instead and see what chandler and dunkley can do.

OUT: Preuss, Melksham, vandenberg, Neal-Bullen, Hunt, Smith

IN: Brown, Spargo, Harmes, Dunkley, Chandler, Lockhart

Adelaide just rolled GWS,  this thread should see some action now.

Get Bennell in, we need something to spark us.

Harley is not the answer.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
