Would have been at the other end.

That’s 2 that would have gone against us, Pruess after his free was tackled and then Mundy diving in after we got that free.

As Dunstall said you can see Freo is trying to spread us wide/around the zone and we’re just lining up to go down the ground to the contest.

I wouldn't kick inside either with a 50% DE

Knock it forward

Keep your feet

Kick it long

Get in space

Under 12s can do this.

Getting beat in a lot of 50/50's true to form. 19 tackles in a half of a game where the ball isn't able to flow.

About what was expected.

I know it's wet but we really do okay slot of horrible down the line for territory footy. Neeld era like

Vandenberg is a good tackler and that's about it.

In cricketing terms - 'he bats at 10 and doesn't bowl.' He is good at nothing!

I don’t know where to start. Fumbles, overusing it, not having players downfield to contest when we do finally clear our lines, no run in attack or defence to create or shut down easy options. Just [censored]. Our only saving grace is that Freo have kept us in it with some shocking finishing work.

We are so slow. Looks like freo have 6 more players. I guess we won the quarter.

Ps umps are atrocious. Disgraceful. Unprofessional. Bias. Putrid. Shameful maggots.

Longmuir would be spewing, Freo should be 4 goals up, make them pay for phark sake.

We are clueless in the wet.

49 marks to 14 about sums up our kicking skills

No system and no smarts

Too many inside Fumblers

No space, no hitting a target

Why are we trying to possess and finesse so often around stoppage YEats?

Tap/punch/kick the ball forward or in any direction where you can see space and no opp....and run onto it.  Its wet weather footy.

We really need to tag Duman. He always tears us to shreds and has dominated the competition for the last decade!

And that has been different to the last 3 weeks.

And the dry,wind,heat,cloudy,humid.

24 goalless quarters under Goodwin, nearly a 25th. Lets hope that stat doesnt rise by end of game. We just look lifeless, an odd cameo from Viney but really we should be behind by a lot. Still a chance, but it's Freos to lose

All we are doing is going for distance with our kicks, there’s no pin point passes or run and carry.

Freo are piling on the pressure and we are playing right into their hands.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
