Bartlett said we wouldn’t stand for it, but we’ve seen an even worse performance only 4 or 5 weeks later. That’s Goodwin done unless he can somehow make finals from here.

Expected to win. Cruised through town on game day. Satisfied with the loss. Very Melbourne-like

Watch the rest of the season fall away meekly now. In fact, no - watch us get up and beat Freo, scrape past GWS and lose to the Bombers. Repeat ad nauseum.

I really have no explanation for these performances. We will most likely miss finals now, and deservedly so. Big problem for the club is: how do you sell hope for next year on the back of that crap?

Insipid and mentally weak. It's one thing to lose, but the lack of intensity they showed all through the first half was inexcusable.

We need to break the cycle some day. Win a few games, get ahead of ourselves, slack off, get exposed, get pilloried, play with intent again, win a few games, get ahead of ourselves...

Absolutely pathetic performance. My mind hasn’t changed on Goodwin one bit.

He was a genius on here last week, and McDonald was a good footballer.

I need a really high mountain to scream from the top how wrong both these thoughts are.

[censored] performance.  Mostly a [censored] team.

But we cant get rid of them so lets just get rid of our coach. Please.  Gooodwin supporters on here you need to extract your heads out your arses.

If we were to do that and miss finals by losing in the last round, that WOULD be classic Melbourne.

So, watch it happen.

Sour tasting dinner now, and who’s hurting??? Us again FFS.....how many times can you shake your head before it falls off?

Certainly puts you off your appetite doesn't it

Trust a word the mfc cannot understand the meaning of, but the rest of the footy world  already knows what the mfc stands for..  what excuse will Goody come up with?? Destiny in their hands & they blow it once again! Whilst your there mfc look up the words leadership & culture or refer to clubs like Cats who show what they were made of vs the dogs last week

Everyone has to cop it for that.

Players refused to dig deep and do the hard things. You could see from the very start they were hesitant in going into contests, refused to tackle, refused to run without the ball. A current assistant coach at another club messaged one of my mates "these players just have no ticker".

Goodwin had no answers yet again. It's hard to see improvements he's made in his time as senior coach. Most of the 'improvement' has come from a better list. So many of the same problems with no answers year after year. It's also hard to see how we motivates the players. The corporate speak and monotony doesn't seem to be working.

Stafford. Firstly, goal kicking is very very poor. Clearly not working. Secondly, our ruck work seems to have gone backwards to the point where it's rare that our rucks hit it anywhere near one of our own players.

Richardson. What has he brought exactly? Neither here nor there with him tbh, but I've seen nothing different from a coaching perspective.

Don't want to go too overboard after one game, but this is too much of a recurring theme now, these things happen far too often.

Staggered if people keep believing that 'Goody has the players' after seeing this kind of thing over and over.

Embarrassing and indefensible.

No further comment.

Yep. That will do me.

So Melbourne.

We were all expecting the usual result.

I only hope Goodie and HIS line coaches takes full responsibility.

And in presso, please don't scratch your left leg. It's disturbing!

It might be congenital dermatitis - or some relief measure.

@Gunna’s I think Sydney have been there since Monday.

Whats with this? We get a 7am flight and they have been encamped there since Monday? And which of the two teams was looking at finals??

Seriously.....do we even think of this stuff. Friggin over it. Dont even give ourselves half a chance.

Goodwin will coach out his contract. At least.

How is this team under this guidance going to improve next year?

The slightest bit of moisture on the deck and we go to water.

Weak [censored] bunch of [censored] suckers the lot of them.

How can you lose to a team who is tanking?

#FML

By helping the team you hold the pick of tank instead by letting teams below them win

Need a goal kicking coach.

I think Sydney went to North Qld after the Adelaide game as Papley said they trained Tuesday on Gazaly field,  when Interviewed.

Wow, what happened, no structures, no talk, no endeavour.

Prime players missing easy goals (Jones, Petracca,  Langdon).

Forward line non-existent.

Fell from Sydney playing in there back half.

Goodwin's changes too late.

Why Omac up front, why not Smith.

Never has a club deserved the reputation they have and we will never ever be able to change teh minds of anyone because this happens so often. I thought Goodwin and his team coached well last week. I though their selections this week were a bit strange but didn't hate them, and i dont think 1 player that went out would have made a difference.

I have real feelings of hate for this club at the moment. How do they spin this. Goodwin sat like a stunned mullett in the coaches box.. gosh im filthy again a this club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
