The bounce into goal was also pretty delightful. The joys of an oval ball, or as my dad would call it “Sherrin-dipity”.

The Saints haven’t had much luck when it comes to “Sherrin-dipity”! ?

Any team other than maybe Norf & GC the commentators would have been saying "clear goal".

Even the goal line official in the box said "i think he touched it but there's no clear vision, stay with the umpires call" even though to me there was no clear evidence to suggest how he came to that conclusion.  The ball gained momentum and was just across the line imv even IF he did manage to get a nail on it at some stage.

Everyone's been kicking us for decades not just KC.  Some habits are hard to break and people are like sheep & keep falling in to line with the mainstream kicking.

RF what have GC and Norf  got to doveith the decision and making them different.

Storm in teacup as Ump was in best position and call was referred back as that as many decisions are even with full blown ARC technology.

Saints fans are rightly upset that they dropped a game against us as they clearly don't rate us due to the 20/3 result over the last decade and since their 2006 qualifying final loss. They blew it with some errant goal kicking early persistent long bombing of the ball to forwards who were out matched on the day primarily by "the wall" Stephan May who was as good as SOS Rance and Scarlett combined.

Thirdly like us their passing to their forwards when attempted was below par for a team sitting 6th.

Ratten fell asleep at the wheel also and for once Goody wasn't tested with slick game changes which test his creativity to the limit.

Move on folks check the result in the papers check the ladder we are in the Top8 and providing we take each match one at a time Have every chance of returning to Finals.

One St. Kilda nuffy on social media was claiming that they should take the points away from Melbourne and award the match to St. Kilda.

Another suggested that they should replay the game mid-week. Not sure when mid-week is considering we play again on Thursday.

Cooper Grech is the biggest nuffy on social media, and that is saying something. His Facebook page did not even have Tracc in the team of the week he is so salty.

Even if it was judged a point there is no guarantee they would have got the next goal.  It would have been a kick-in instead of a centre bounce.

We defended the kick-ins very well.  They spent a lot of the game switching back and forth in our i50 so there is every chance we would have locked it in or kicked a goal ourselves and we still would have won.

There was six minutes to go with any number of outcomes if it had been a point.  It wasn't.  We won.  End of story!

Commentators saying we escaped with a lucky goal are being disingenuous.

Indeed ... it would have brought about a completely different series of events. Who knows what that would have been.

In any event, Petracca freakin marked the ball, or at the very least should have been awarded a free kick. (ALA free kick to Membrey awarded against Viney.)

Not quite up to the Jack Watts QB goal  but nice...

Definitely that Saints player was not chasing it hard until it took the bounce. Perhaps the Saints supporters might like to highlight that.

Just a bit of fun. Hopefully it annoys some Saints fans who might have it sent to them.

I like the AFL sending out an edict to all grounds hosting AFL matches to make sure their camera technology is up to scratch.

Well AFL how about you sort out the grounds that can host matches with the right standards in the first place? Do you even think of this stuff. Its in your rule book so you need to step up and make compliance with your Magna Carta part of the deal in all respects. How about you fork out for some camera equipment and send it to grounds that may be struggling financially and work out a standard to where it all goes, otherwise leave it up to the friggin goal umpy! Employ 3 if you have to !!

FMD 2 12yo kids with mobile phones taped to the goal posts could do better.

Laughingly this morning on SEN Kane Corness admitted the umpire was in a perfect psootion and then went on

From his couch in his Adelaide loungeroom.

This has to win some sort of media quote award this year surely?

Looked over to me but who knows. Doesn't matter now. It's a goal. They're going to put goal line cameras at every game. Convo over.

But also...

He marked that ball. Even if the St. Kilda defender got some of that first touch this is mark every day of the week, I've seen one of these called everygame even when the other player gets first touch. Trac gets the majority of the first touch with his hand in front and you can see by the way the ball goes straight up that he had control of it using more palm as opposed to the other players swiping fingers (of which he if go most of it the ball would travel sideways).

If this wasn't deemed a goal or simply rolled through for a behind we would be having a different more frustrating conversation as demons supporters because that was a mark. Quite a brilliant Petracca pure strength and skills mark.

Looked clearly over the line before the defender was even close to touching the ball - surprised they even called for a review TBH

Kane Cornes wouldn't know if his ar$e was on fire

Perhaps if Fox threw in a bit more money,  the problem wouldn't have occurred.....

But then there would be less opportunity for controversey which Fox loves.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
