Gawn - stood up outstandingly

May -  an elite performance 

Langdon - prolific and indefatigable 

Oliver - slightly off key

Petracca - was the difference 

Salem - reliable and tight

Rivers - calm and composed

Hibberd - some important clearances

Wagner - rarely looked confident 

Brown - important in fourth

Brayshaw - continues to confound

Tomlinson - jury is out

Viney - couldn’t get going

Melksham - continued disappointing season

Jones - age has wearied 

Lever - reliable and effective 

Weideman - ten minute performance 

McDonald - slow , not terrible 

Spargo - little to commend

vandenBerg - not a wingman

Hannan - couldn’t justify inclusion 

Pickett - played little part

Langdon - Continued underrated season

Oliver - Slow first half

Petracca - 2 or 3 (votes)

Salem - important final kick

Rivers - Looks a find.

Hibberd - has found form

Wagner - just a game

Brown - easily surpassed McDonald 

Brayshaw - disappointing from start

Tomlinson - one needed mark

Viney - resorted to tagging

Melksham - lost lateral movement

Jones -  very costly mistake

Lever - much improved performance 

Weideman - 2 goal quota

McDonald - Casey scorpion reserves

Spargo - very uninspiring display

vandenBerg - makes us slower

Hannan - cant hit scoreboard 

Pickett - starting to worry

A bit harsh on Wagner. I thought he worked his way into the game well and played his part in an increasingly accomplished back half.

I don't understand this point about passengers.

You don't get that defensive structure without everyone on board.

We had players that made mistakes with ball in hand and some of those might miss a game next week, but we shut down a very good running team with a stunning 18-man defence.

One example I would give is Brayshaw. Had a quiet night but he ran constantly from east to west to combat the Saints spread and switch. That's not a passenger in my view.

On a side note, another point I would make is that defensive efforts are not always reflected in tackles or any other stat. Sometimes corralling and forcing a kick to an advantageous position is better than a tackle.

Don't get me wrong, this performance was far from perfect and we have plenty of players that need to get better around the ball and with ball in hand, but you don't get a performance like that from May, for example, without everyone pulling their weight, defensively.

Agree, looked to be really busting a gut all night. There was one where he didn't quite get to the ball carrier but put on just enough pressure to impact the kick inside 50 which we marked.

Won't get a stat but that is exactly what we need from every player. And didn't get from every player last week
