Mitch Brown, Mitch Hannan, Trent Rivers and Joel Smith have missed selection, but will be the team's emergencies for Saturday’s game.

Would've liked to see Hannan, Rivers & Smith in and rest Jones, VDB & either Harmes/Sparrow.

Tomlinson will get Bruce

And get out bodied easily. He's just as poor one on one.

I’m confident with this one, we have a better backline, a forward line that’s found it’s mojo & Clarry, Trac, Jack & Gus firingin the midfield, looking like 2018 again

Get on board!!!

Would be a dramatic turnaround for Bruce to cause us any issues. Has been beyond rubbish this year.

So in the last 3 games we have played the 2 worst in the comp and the filth who were badly depleted. Tmrw we play an inconsistent but a capable side so winning this will give us some better impotus for the rest of the season. Losing it will mean the previous 3 weeks were a dream.

On the side I can understand no changes but why is tomlinson still playing. Against a quicker running side like the dogs I would give Rivers a run.

Can someone explain why we cant ask the ruckman to punch it in a certain direction, say towards our goals?

Preuss does not have Gawn's finesse and to say to the midfielders I am going to swipe it left, right or forwards must give us forewarning even if it does not come off without a hitch.  Doggies midfielders will be expecting the ball to land in the circle as a result of a nil-nil ruck contest and a probable scrum.. i know i loved Strawbs and I havent moved on but why not give it a go? serious question.

I really liked in the Pies game when he did that big first towards goal and I think it was Clarry that ran onto it. I think with Preuss it might be better to get the a bit of separation from the pack, obviously as long as it’s towards a plan that everyone is work to.

Only concern is that the dogs have good speed in the middle and if they get onto it it could backfire very quickly.

TMac is a little lucky ... hope he hits the game hard and successfully.

Strange vibe that he's going to have a big game soon. Tmrw would be great. Dees by 36.

Yes that is fair enough.

I’m so nervous for this one, the Crows/north were ones we needed to win and did so handily. Pies win was pretty ho-hum for mine, they were so depleted, this is the big test indeed.

Our backline has looked really good but Naughton (May takes him) is a very good player who will be a star in the not too distant future. Bruce has been terrible this season but has the Ben’s (Kingsley’s) about him. Doggies love multiple goal kickers from the smalls and mids.

The way they play worries me because they have the inside mids to give us some trouble at the clearance along with the ability to spread very fast. If Bont moves fwd that could cause issues too.

We need our mids to be really on top and the D to keep growing as a unit we’ve seen the last 3 weeks.

Hi Damo.

I would assume they would do this a few times during the match.

I see a downside if he misses the mark. They will be out of defensive positions.

With a game under Preuss's belt and training as 1st ruck, the stoppages will be better prepared for.

I'll keep an eye open for the 10 meter slap as well as some finesse.

With a stable side we should see good field structures.

Hoping they work for each other and our turnovers are minimal.

Also don't give them goals in the last 3 minutes of the quarter.

Let's find time and space.

Remember the white boards, "blue minds",

Go Dees, hit the marks, play the roles, take it on and make a difference when it is your time.

Can the Dogs kick straight?  Usually they give us a look in by not converting.

On what evidence to you have the Vibe?

I asked deever the family Dachsund.

What more do you want?

Mind you, I should probably stop putting money on these decisions.

He was going well against the Collingwood bigs before they went down

I have a lot of faith in Preuss and it looks like our players do too. Could prove one of our best pick ups in a long time if we win two or three games without Maxy.

I’m not sure if there are many Premier League fans on here but Liverpool lost the first choice keeper who had been one of their best pick ups in years early in the first game of the season just gone. Didn’t have him for about 6-7 matches I think, everyone thought the sky was falling and Liverpool were stuffed. Up stepped Adrian, who’d barely been at the club a week. He stepped in and did a bloody good job in Allison’s absence, Liverpool won the title.

A lot of teams over the years win premierships off of incredible injury runs but most have to cover for their stars at some point. Preuss could be our Adrian!

If Bruce is their Kent Kingsley against us, then maybe Tom McDonald is ours against them.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
