If Preussy kicks a couple, gets 11 touches and 13 hit outs (as 2nd ruck) as he did in his first game last year he will be well on his way to earning his spot.

I'll measure Preuss's performance not so much by his stats, but by how influential Grundy is, or, preferably, is not. If Grundy's name doesn't appear in the coaches' votes, I'll be satisfied.

Have we seen a hard tag at all this year? I feel like its out of vogue currently with so many teams having an even spread of midfielder. Prime example being ours.

Tactics very important for this game. Likely to be a low scoring slog in the damp.

Pies will go in favourites but it will be a toss up. About time we had some luck perhaps.

On another point, pre season I posted that 8 wins would save Goodwin. That was based on a 22 game season. With a 17 game season he's safe with 6 wins so I think we can soon put that issue aside until next year.

Fanciful if you think 8 wins would save him from 22 games.

Long time since I played footy but will never forget the season when I suffered a quad injury. It was painful trying to kick the ball and I ended up missing four matches. When I came back, I felt a niggle as I ran onto the ground after half time and when I got a kick, the same pain was there but worse. Missed the finals and was still having pain in the quad area well into summer.

Advice to Pendlebury: give it a rest for another week.

Advice to Pendles: run out for this important match, blow up in the first contest, spend the match on the bench, out for 6 weeks.

Didn’t think Pendles would play. He and Sidebottom have to be stopped, as they are the main goal assist players  for the Pies.

Any chance Goodwin could possibly think about putting Harmes on sidebum. Who knows he might even find some form ffs.

8 wins fmd you are a easy marker Diamond.
Make finals and he stays otherwise on ya bike.

How's everyone else's MFCSS?  Must win, season defining game against Collingwood.  Had a couple of nice wins, media starting to talk us up a little bit again.  Playing a team who has been out of form.  Reeks of a classic MFC stinker coming up.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer.  Gee I hope I'm wrong and we have turned a corner.  I love nothing more than beating these guys.

Like the Idea of Preuss, he is fresh, he will blow up but he can bang into an already tired Grundy, even if it is for 10-15mins a quarter, Preuss is a big unit and just needs to be physical against Grundy, then let Tmac run him off his legs.

One thing to note with playing Pruess is how GWS have played Mummy against Grundy the last couple games with good success. Mummy is not really interested in getting the tap out his job it to bash into Grundy and  atke him out of the contest and limit his follow up work and clearance strength

Sidebottom has been in poor form. I doubt he warrants a hard tag. Maynard is their play maker so will need to shut him down.

Burgo said on the MFC site that there’s a scratch match against Collingwood (both clubs are in the Maroochydore hub) for the reserves players which would provide some insIght into who will play in the main game.

If there are any track watchers up on the Sunshine Coast, this is your opportunity to be the first with the news.

Demons won the game by 8 goals. That’s all the info that I have at the moment.

I reckon lose this game and it’s curtains for season 2020. Sadly injuries have struck at the worst time and of course Pies are welcoming back players.

They still will have Treloar, DeGoey, Howe, Sier, Roughead,, Quaynor and Langdon missing. Pendles could still pull out.

I think back to that last game in 2017, where we had to win to make the finals, against a depleted Pies side and we lost playing a shocker. That has been our mantra over the last 20 years.

I’m with you mate.

We’re 0/5 in big tests this year.

Would be easily the clubs biggest and meaningful win since 2018.

Given game times are about 20% shorter, he's not actually far off his average.

Saw a post on a Collingwood site that Stephenson has been dropped!

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
