So he borrowed the in laws car?  So what!  This guy is pulling absolute nonsense out of his prison wallet to try to be relevant.

Could not agree more. Majoring in minors is our Mr. Stevens.

Watch how he was moving in 2018 compared to now

That's quite remarkable; completely unrecognisable as a player.
Fast, agile and aggressive in the air.

There's clearly something physically holding him back and I sometimes wonder if the club is better served by telling the fans.
I understand that they want privacy for the player and to not give opposition teams a heads-up, but surely there'd be less pressure and unfair criticism of his performances if we knew what was wrong with his toe / feet / ankles.

It's painfully obvious that the TMac 'I only play with my brother' myth is utter bull. It's staggering how often it's repeated on here. Imagine how that would go down with the coaches/ playing group?

It probably stems from a quote where he said something along the lines of: "Yeah it's great having my brother at the club, I'm really looking forward to running out alongside him" or similar.

Would hope that is correct; my version is actually a memory from within a DL source - or even a past newspaper commentaryd, - but I hope that is a product  of an expanding 'Chinese whisper' that changes many times as time passes. When I thought about it, I, too, would relate that memory of the statement to discuss what I considered to be the benefits of the trading of both the Macs in one fell swoop.

From what I heard, it's an ankle problem that has bothered him all year. Every time he played he was playing in pain.

if you look at the photo above it might give some clue .in 2018 he was lean and agile .Now he looks like he has a wet suit under his jumper and is about as agile as a giraffe on roller skates .I dont know whether or not this stems from his toe problems  but I do know that unless he gets football fit he is no use to us or any other club .

I’ve never heard this and find your statement that Tom said that incredibly hard to believe.

I still find it hard to believe but it was a long while ago and has been easily forgotten. I mentioned it in relation to the trade/delisting commentaries regarding the two MACs - as a measure and handbrake to my thoughts rationalising the reasons why OMac received so many games without satisfactory performance, repeatedly. And now, TMac appears injured yet he is by-passed rather quickly unlike his brother's selections in form stagnation. The statement was used to source other opinion from DL contributors - something that that is useful to find to resolve a thinking dilemma. I think that it is called 'fishing' for answers to a conundrum.

I seriously believe you should not be perpetuating such damaging allegations without an absolutely iron-clad source.

IMO there is NO WAY this can be correct.

I have an uneasy feeling that Goody thinks that Hooker IN / TMac OUT will solve our forward line issues.

Personally I think a goal-kicking small is a bigger need and I think Pickett’s future is further up the ground.  The more we focus on finding the mythical ‘quality mature tall’ the less we’re doing to get a Papley or Liam Ryan type in the door (nb I’m not suggesting I know how we get that type in the door just suggesting that solving for that is where our energy should be).

This is exactly how I feel about us chasing half-back flankers.

Yes, we need a big body but no-one is giving up a gun, so just get someone useful - the Weid needs help.

Totally agree on small forwards - this is where we should be focused.

wowee.. what could have been this year had he played like that. I think his 2019 season hurt his 2020 season a lot.. looks so much fitter in 2018.. thinner, agile, attacking. Such a shame.. if we could have 2018 Tom in 2021 it would be great, however i think we are more likely to get 2020 Tom.

Agreed but it was a contentious point put  subsequently into my own perspective and sourcing for that reason, and still, to receive some feedback from the DL contributors as another information source to ponder. I still respect TMac and his past efforts for the MFC as he has been a great Demon over many years.

TMac and OMac, package for Ben Brown?  Interesting to ponder - not convinced Brown is the guy.

Many on here have been saying that TMac's year in 2018 was an aberration and that 2019/2020 are more representative of his worth... well, working by the same principle, Brown's 2020 should probably be considered an aberration, while his previous three seasons saw him netting >60 goals in each, while his average for his career up until 2019 had been 46.5 goals.

Going by those sorts of figures, I wouldn't be averse to him coming to the Dees, although I would probably prefer to see us get Jeremy Cameron who has a few more strings to his bow and is much harder at the ball.

I honestly do not understand what you are trying to say.

For the record, there is NO WAY that Tom McDonald has ever said he'll only play if Oscar McDonald is selected.

It does seem a bit far-fetched.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
