Petracca is 6th in the league in disposals per game.ย ย  His 24.5 average would be closer to 30 touches a game in a normal season without shortened quarters.

Oh by the way, Oliver is 3rd.

What a combo these two are!

Like a fine wine I believe we are seeing the true Tracca.

The Mfc and a few here saw and believed his potential. His work and effort is reaping rewards. I hope he continues to chart these performances and become one of tย he best

ย

I'm looking forward to the day when our midfield of Gawn, Oliver, Petracca, Viney and Brayshaw is as ominous as Garner, Marshall, Holding, Robertsย and Croft.ย

Good win, but we need to back it up. Hawthorn are in a different place to us. We need to beat a team in the 8 before we start thinking we are out of Hell. Its a good start and the game was enjoyable to watch.

The season is still alive, which is cool, but that is all so far

We are in the middle now

You are still awake Uncle! You were into the Shiraz early in the first half so assumed you would be non compus after that win.ย

A reasonable assumption my good Earl, however, I still have a shot ( maybe two) to be fired !!

Probably been said before, but the structural and personnel changes to allow Fritsch to play third tall forward and Lever third tall back have made a mountain of difference. Letโ€™s keep it that way, please.ย That and our sustained fierce tackling and pressure warmed my heart today.

Correct, itโ€™s not rocket surgery.

She may well need an extended stay in quarantine.Perhaps the one at Werribee.

3-3 and weโ€™ve played 3 of the top 5 from last year. The season is alive!

thankย Christ coz we all need it at the moment

Gawn and Trac are the two best players Iโ€™ve seen play in a MFC jumper for at least 15 years.ย

Trac turned 24 years old this year! The next 150 games will be awesomeย

Interesting comment thanks we beat Gold Coast who were and are in the 8 Carlton in the 8 this week shouldโ€™ve beaten Top side Port today - agree Hawks in a different place but great club and Clarko dangerous any time but particularly after the pressure this week - donโ€™t underestimate the win today and the talent on our list. ย We just need to stay healthy keep up the effort and we can beat anyone - Iโ€™m suspecting weโ€™re about to get on a roll ....and we have a game up our sleeve v Essendon who we will [censored] on a fast track in Queensland

To me, watching the past 2 weeks this has been a side that was quite disadvantaged by the postponement of the bombers game. You can see it all coming together with being able to get some continuity of playing.

Have been hard on the Weid but loved the way he attacked the contest today and presented at the ball carrier. His best game for the club I reckon, better than the final. Ha d to lead the attack today and he did. Jackson was a bonus also.

People on here during the Port Carlton game complaining that sides had gone past us, nothing of the sort. Just means how close the season is.

Bring on Brisbane, we might not beat them but there's no reason whyย we can't. Oh and TMac might have to sit on the bench for a few weeks.

Special mention to the bloke in the crowd who yelled out "Good one Harmesy" when Melksham kicked his goal midway through the third.

Thought the crowd was way better than the manufactured noise

Project manager yeah?

Quite happy about that.ย  This was everything that we've been crying out for in our side.ย

It seems like they're finally getting the balance right in the side.ย  The addition of Langdon, Bennell and Pickett give us some pace and skill to compliment the raw grunt, Oscar down back frees up Lever and May to play their natural games and Weid plays a more traditional full-forward game than T-Mac which helps the forward structure and gives us a moving target.ย  Some of the passes to the lead were sublime today, none better than the bullet from May that bounced of Jackson's chest.ย

It was very interesting seeing the more senior players going out of their way to give goals to the first year players.ย  Even the Weid declined a set shot directly in front of goal to give Jackson a freeby.ย

I'm also thrilled with the vision Bennell is showing.ย  I don't care if he's not enough of a contested beast for Goodwin.ย  That's not what he was hired for and trying to turn him into another inside animal is pointless.ย  He's in the side for the damage he can do with the ball, not for his tackling and contested ball-winning.ย  His hand pass through a mob of Hawks to create a goal was sublime.ย

Petracca - Beast Mode

Gawn - champion

Kozi, Bennell, Jackson - exciting

Weid - solid

OMac - composed

Viney - Bull

Oliver - maturing

I could easily write about the performance of our Hollywood midfield.

But instead I am going to make special mention of Oscar McDonald. I've been incredibly hard on this kid but he's proved me wrong and making me eat humble pie. He's a complete different player and it's no coincidence that May and Lever are back to their best.

Well done Oscar, you've shut me up for good.

Kozzie and Jackson are going to be something else huh...

The Omac wars are nearly over.

Jnrmac is waiting at the station, has bought his ticket and reckon is close to jumping on boardย the Oscar train.

Just need stevethemanjordon to make a demonland comeback and board that train too.

Just home from our new fortress Giants stadium. What a delight to see 2 wins in a row. We were absolutely sublime. I cant speak again voice shattered and the experience so the much better for having Hawks supporters there. Max was immense as was Trac but it was a whole team performance. Some great support for Oscar as well with one supporter near us confessing very loudly he was wrong about Oscar.ย

ย

Great win but where has this type of play been for the past 18 mths. Kicking to a team mate and hitting the target, good to finally see it.ย
ย

Amazing now weย are doing it we are playing better.ย

Two of them have only played 3 games.ย ย ย ย

The more important question who is more damaging with the footy, got a feeling at the moment Trac would be higher up that list on that criteria...

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
