Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Smashing Hawthorn makes the apocalypse feel way better.

Oscar has come in and said listen [censored], don’t listen to what Simon says, this is my world and this is how you’re setting up.

Petrecca is something else. The balance and movement plus  explosion stands out likes dogs balls in an era of ugly footy. Really bringing the joy back for me.

Gawn took the [censored] all day.

Oliver and Viney were a driving force. Bullies.

Brayshaw half good half awful. Which one is really him?

Jackson played a better game than Tomald has for 12 months. Promising stuff. Bennell and Kozzie also played really well up forward.

So good to see Weed making a difference.

And Langdon played like what Scully should’ve become.

Speaking of Scully, best part was when a 200 kilo Italian ran away from him like he wasn’t there.

Pretty much everything I want to say.

Also, don’t write Jetta off yet.

Pathetic effort from Scully really. Didn't even try and catch him.

Watching $cully get smashed all day was just icing on the cake.

Just a great win.

Really looking forward to next week to see how we go.

A lot of people have downplayed the significance of winning a flag this year. I think if a team like us that are going to be almost perpetually on the road this year can enable it, it would be a great achievement.

Best game since 2018.

Tracc and Gawn were immense.

Ive seen a few mention it, but I reckon Langdon deserves a heap of praise. Last week was good, this week we saw exactly why we went after him. Runs and Runs and runs and hit his targets today.

also thought Clarry improved as the game went on. Getting better at picking when to handball and when to kick. Still has to be a focus though.

He’s improving and now starting to have more confidence in his kicking, but still gives off these dinky little handballs that do nothing. He sold Max into trouble with one in the last quarter and the look on his face was priceless. Didn’t even consider he would go to Max when Clarry had the momentum out of the backline.

Thankfully Gawn is a quality player and made it work (to a point).

How good is it to have a real wing man that has a tank and is quick? And knows how to find space.

I keep hearing about his poor kicking skills but I think he is alright. He was really important in the first half

He knows his limitations which is so important. I have been super impressed with him

Smells like 2018 except our guns are more mature and better. Just a sniff though at this stage but promising. Jackson looks like he will be a player. The Weid looks like he has reclaimed his late 2018 confidence - except he has matured since then - GREAT sign for things to come. Add a fit May, Bennell, Langdon plus our recruits.

Who does T Mc come in for?????/

Weideman crashing packs like a big bloke should. Make your opponents know its going to hurt.

He actually looked tough af at times today. That elbow in the face and he bounced up like nothing happened.

Angry Weid is my favourite Weid.

100%. I see myself as a relatively measured, maybe negative, poster, but anyone who called for Oliver to be dropped is so far off the mark it isn’t funny. Even at his “worst”, he’s still a borderline top 50 player in the comp. At his best, he will rack up AA’s and BnF’s as one of the best inside mids in the game.

Its honestly mystifying that it took until last week for the coaches to play Weideman. Our structure looks so much better with him crashing packs and clunking marks. Great to see him get on the end of a few goals. Probably should've finished with five.

Also....Luke Jackson: 14 touches, three marks (two contested), three tackles and a goal in just his second game. Early days, but Action Jackson looks super impressive.

yes Jackson was impressive today., read the fall of the ball very well, was quite good without the ball pressuring the opposition and did quite a few night things with the ball.

for a second game it was impressive and looks like the King boys with ability to cluck marks and athleticism.

Some really pleasing signs. The game plan clicked and it looked awesome.

The midfield dominated on the back of Gawn, who played his best game in a long time. Contested marking and made every possession count.

Langdon provides the run and spread while Harley looks like he is getting better every week.

Omac and the Weed have given us structure. Who would have thought!

Couple of things to work on. Let's not put the ball on Fritta's head! Vanders' kicking is not well weighted and Pickett (played very well) needs to make his tackles stick.

Two of them have only played 3 games.

Thanks. Neale has been huge this year, and didn’t realise Pendlebury had been that prolific. He’s always class.

Probably been said before, but the structural and personnel changes to allow Fritsch to play third tall forward and Lever third tall back have made a mountain of difference. Let’s keep it that way, please. That and our sustained fierce tackling and pressure warmed my heart today.

Loved Langdon’s game.

If you need convincing of the importance of the wingman’s role (Goody included), watch the very first goal of the game to Gunston, and how Brayshaw gets sucked in and they just spread it to the wing to Scully and goal time.

After that, not only did we shut it down defensively, but Langdon was always an option, and barely made a wrong decision with the ball. Loving the balance it brings to our game.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
