6 - Viney. Almost gave it to Gawn but Viney was unbelievable with his attack on the footy from half time. He did everything possible to make sure we didn’t lose.

5 - Gawn. Immense game and has been in awesome form.

4 - Salem. Awesome first half and really set the tone with some aggression and clean entries.

3 - Petracca. Would have probably been BoG if he didn’t kick at like 40% efficiency. Clutch goal though at the end.

2 - Langdon. I felt some of his hard running really helped us get into great position.

1 - AvB. His second half was huge and won a heap of crucial contests.

Apologies to Hibbo who continued his excellent form.

6 GAWN, Best Captains game in I can’t remember

5 VINEY, Getting some sleep after new bub obviously helps, fair dinkum he cops merde on this site.

4, LANGDON, his run was good when we lost momentum at times.

3, OLIVER, really strong 4 qtrs

2, SALEM, best game in a long time

1, Can raffle this, but Omac great job tonight, felt like the missing piece of the puzzle he made MAy and Lever better.

6. Gawn - used everything in his bag of tricks other than a grab 30 out. Ruck work and marking all over the ground immense.

5. Viney - bull, with much improved ball use this week.

4. Petracca - poor ball use lowers his ranking but his contested efforts were big again and as far as I was concerned, all was forgiven with the mark and goal in the last quarter. The Petracca of old, after a day of poor ball use wouldn’t have had the mental fortitude to calm down and nail that goal, which sucked the energy out of our opposition and in to ourselves. Coming of age.

3. Oliver - lessons learned from last week. Just awesome.

2. Salem - ball use really important, especially in the first half.

1. Langdon - I just love the way this guy runs, haven’t seen anything like it in MFC colours in ages. He is untackleable.

Also enjoyed the games of Hibberd, Hannan, Vanders, Weid and OMac.

Have to say that whilst I didn’t give him a vote, Oscar McDonald played probably his best game for the Dees. He nullified Sam Day and actually ran a few times to rebound the footy. Still got lead feet in marking contest. Last night was the expected standard.  I felt with Day and King, May & Oscar combo worked better.  Allowed Lever to play intercept.  I saw some people gave Lever in the votes.  Not in my top 10.  Marginally better but still too easily pushed aside in marking contests.

6. Gawn. This is how captains play.

5. Viney. Great ex captain's game. Reformed man, looking to where he wants to go.

4. Langdon. Love the way he enjoys his footy.

3. Lever. Best game for a long time.

2: Salem. At it all night.

1: vandenBerg. Awesome ferocity.

Oscar and May and Hibberd were good as well.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
