And we lost by only 3 point with more scoring shots, more inside 50s, fewer clangers, more clearances, more hit outs, more contested possessions and more frees. Hate to think what would be said if we lost by double the margin.

And what if the last shot a goal had been a bit more to the right.  It's not the players, it's the lack of a coherent reliable system. Dock the pay of the coach until he works it out.

Strewth you can argue TMac’s impact but lack of effort? Got too numerous contests, took one front on and kicked an important goal in a shizen game.

A dismal effort! Give up joeboy. Your analysis is about as incisive as a Lou Richard's prediction of who will win next week! (and Lou's not even around to make that prediction)

A bit harsh on Brayshaw, thought he was one of our best and kicked 2.

Salem should be everyone’s biggest worry. That jog after the 50 was a disgrace. He should be dominating now yet he’s just an average half backer. He’s gotta be up for trade at this years end you’d think.

This entire thread would have been completely different for starters.  That's how fickle this place can be sometimes.

I can’t stand seeing such scathing criticism of Viney.

It’s hard to think of any player who does more to give his all for his club. He throws himself in , gets the hard ball from impossible positions, then does his best to move the ball on from congestion. What a gutsy team player!  I admire him greatly, and it hurts to see fellow supporters suggesting we should trade him.

Keep fighting for us, Jack, you’re a Demon through and through!

I'm not convinced about that. We were woeful. A win would not have hidden that, just at didn't hide the last 2 quarters of the blues game.

I think we played better than what Joeboy thinks.

I don't know why all the hatred for Smith Smith was good. Our backline is not the problem it's the forward line.

MAY - BLOODY GOOD EFFORT

SALEM - UNUSUALLY REALLY QUIET

HARMES - BACKLINE IS BEST

PETRACCA - CREATED SOME SPARK

VINEY - GREAT LAST QUARTER

LEVER - DONE THE JOB

BRAYSHAW - HIT THE SCOREBOARD

GAWN - SHOULD HAVE DOMINATED

OLIVER - NOT HIS BEST

HIBBERD - GREAT RETURN GAME

LANGON - NOT AS PROLIFIC

MELKSHAM - ABSOLUTELY BLOODY TERRIBLE

HANNAN - PREFER UNFIT BENNELL

TOMLINSON - REALLY TRIED HARD

VANDENBERG - WAS REALLY INDERDONE

RIVERS - SECOND GAME BLUES

T.MCDONALD - FINALLY TOOK MARK

HUNT - WAS BARELY SIGHTED

FRITSCH - CONTINUES POOR SEASON

PICKETT - AN EXCITEMENT MACHINE

LOCKHART - MUST REALISE TACKLER

SMITH - REALLY SOLID GAME

It's 1 quarter of football that is really letting us down ATM. We must fix it along with the forward line.

I might have watched a different game. Kozzy was all buzz with no impact. Smith was ok. Rivers looked lost. Melksham looked disinterested and has forgotten how to chase. Hannan was ok considering how long it is since he has played at this level. And despite the love for Lockhart on this forum, he simply isn't ready.

No one has ever doubted his guts and determiination. Team players create opportunities for others and link play. Vivey does neither very well and has had a golden run of valuable on  ball time at the expense of others all the while roving under the best tap ruckman in the league. He should be considered for trade on the same terms as all the other players if this season goes that way it might.

Melksham - Dan Butler's position

I think a live wire goalsneak would've been more creative around the goals and not wasted all the opportunities Melk did. Why are we playing half forwards deep and trying to turn them into Gary Ablett?

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
