Good effort to suggest changes clearly without watching the game but they should be as follows:

OUT: T. McDonald, Melksham, Jackson
IN: Weideman, Pickett, Lockhart

Smith gets a reprive up forward where he belongs.

Out : 1 point win

In    : 30 point loss

Seriously, we are still a terrible team/club. To think that Peter Jackson once said in the press that it was "Offensive" to suggest Goodwin wasnt a good coach.. The only part that is offensive is the length of contract this bloke has.

We are going NOWHERE with him at the helm.

Big winner today was Norf.

We cant make enough changes to that error-plagued and lazy outfit to make much difference next week.

Beyond disappointing.

Let’s worry about the changes after we find out who played well for Casey.

It is not just ins and outs. Look at three big name signing.

May is not a fullback, dominated games at GC as a half back

Lever is only useful as a third  tall.

Tomlinson is ok but not a wingman,

And then there are the regulars, Jetta sadly is near the end. brayshaw is a plodder. Vineys role should be replaced with Harmes. Without the bullocking Viney is a rover to ther best ruckman in the league, Whoever is at his feet should be starring. Old school second rover for mine. Neil-Bullen far too happy with himself. It just goes on and on. Loved Petraccas game but to hear him say the BLues are a really good team is ridiculous. Sire say they gave hard competition, but a good team. No.

Goodwin is simply not up to it...

Weideman for Jackson. I'm not critical of Jackson but he's raw and will take time. Weid has to be ahead of him at this point.

Pickett for ANB.

OMac for Smith

Also need to find a way to get vandenBerg in.

Agree, except I'd keep Jacko in

Hear you on both Weid and Jackson. Like to get Jackson at least two to three games. Agree on OMac and Pickett. VDB for Melksham maybe.

The good news is that Weid reportedly kicked 5 or 6 goals in the scratch match. The bad news is so did Brown apparently.

melksham and t mac on thin ice

at this stage i think - on the g - you need some tall targets to kick to, so i'd give lj a reprieve this week

IN: weed, o mac
OUT: jones, smith

sad to see nate go out like he is - looks a shadow of his former self

anb and hunt did their roles; pickett will need to wait, silly boy

I dont see why we can't play all 3 of Jackson, McDonald and Weideman.

Yet instead of having a skinny half forward flanker at full forward why not stick Weid or McDonald down there instead. Use Jacko as the backup ruckman, and leave Weid and McDonald as genuine key forwards.

Jackson showed there is something to work with. Feel like that more game time and experience the better.

Gotta get Kossi and Vanders in there as well.

Gee I'm glad Smith is in for Omac   oh [censored]

We need Fritsch to play forward   oh [censored]

Melksham back in makes the forward line better   oh [censored]

Great to see Jacko in for trade bait Weid   oh [censored]

Is Petty injured? He looked okay

yes

Changes:

Need a tall back, not a brainless kangaroo.  That means OMac in for Smith.

Weid to come in to provide a true marking option forward.  Fritsch to hff to deliver.  Kosi in.

I have trouble dropping Jones, but he is under the pump.  As is Melk.

Would persist with Jackson.  Nibbler probably for the chop.

Goody should make a statement.  That was just weak.  A small amount of pressure and the Dees crumbled.  Our ‘speed’ tactic hardly paid off.

For what it's worth, and I know some people lament him on here, but I would pick Weid before I picked Tmac, at least he gets involved in the play enough to warrant selection.

Hope Hannan pulled up well after the scratch match. Takes Melskham’s place for mine.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
