Pickett & Spargo Break COVID Restrictions

Disappointing from both players, I was young once and did stupid things, so understand but I wasn't in their position. Not a hanging offence but still a mark against them

Some of the comments on here toward Spargo are disgraceful and some of you should hang your heads in shame.

Nobody should ever wish anything but the best for the players

I would assume the difference would relate to their respective ages and level of experience in a professional football environment.

Spargo is entering his third year in the AFL- absolutely no excuse for being so blaze about the rules.

Pickett can at least point to the stupidity of youth and inexperience.

but on that basis (seniority) ollie wines should have got 4 weeks

Gotta hand it to Spargo.

Puts in a round 1 performance at a level not seen since Isaac Weetra circa 2008.

Then coerced our premier albeit young small forward into attending a house party via an Uber during pandemic -  hence robbing us a key piece of the puzzle in somehow jagging our first win in 11 months.

I don’t think we’ll be seeing young Charles for a number of weeks.

You got a source for this?

Or are you just making complete [censored] up?

And poor though he was, is there any reason to stick the boot in further with the unnecessarily harsh Weetra call?

How many breaches of AFL protocol were displayed when Selwood kicked that goal in 3rd Qtr? I wonder if Kozzie and Charlie cuddled their friends during their indiscretion.

BIG difference... the players in the games are all isolated in the “bubble”. The punishment meted out to Pickett and Spargo could also be considered a form of enforced isolation, as they had been in contact with people outside the players “bubble”... why is this starting to sound like an episode from Seinfeld? I blame the moops!!

Is ANB in or is that what everyone is guessing

He’s in, official MFC Facebook page announced it, also Corey Wagner has been added to the emergency list alongside Michael Hibberd, James Jordon and Sam Weideman.

Hopefully originally  getting  dropped spurs him on to bettr things

The way he worked in 2018, running hard to get to contests and contributing usually 1-2 goals a game was important. He is one that should feel like he has a point to prove, if this doesn't give him the kick up the bum he needs than nothing will.

Is it possible that Hannan might get a run?

There is something quite calming - and acceptable - about the late inclusion of 'Mr Nice' into our forward line under the circumstances. He has the skills, mobility and challenges fairly well for the ball. Go Hannan...and go Lockhart. We do have depth and it may be time to prove it across the board.

Absolutely guaranteed to get a week after the Essendon player got a week. I know they're young, but this is just plain idiotic.

You dont think the odd health issue plus the look of the game is more important than the big picture of Borders ??

I thought that also Ash.

God forbid if ONE player catches it and gives it to another or a few at their Club or even an opponent (which is greater odds than Gold Coast winning the premiership  really).

Also did you notice the Hawks bench lack of Self distancing

Clarkson standing right behind a player and next to another official.

Please  correct me if that rule is not applicable to officials etc.

If it is not then non medicos are the only ones that should Not be distanced at times for the total look of the game.

In fact the over 50 year old officials at most Clubs are more in danger if they catch the  virus than their more juvenile counterparts!!

This at least means Jeffery Kennett should not be seen offering his unique brand of advice during the game from the comfort of the interchange bench.

(Did any one notice with some glee Eddy looked all strange and alone on Thursday night at the G !)

From what we have seen all summer and the hard work they have put in both must be cursing themselves right now for something that just needed a little more thought in this current environment. Kossie so close to running out with his fellow draftees and Bennell, Spargo on the cusp of the 22.

Like anything else, a learning experience. I’m sure Max will tuck both under his arms and have a gentle word to them.

39 it might have also have been  that Charlie is not playing (only emergency) in the selected side.

Is a bit rude really if that is taken into account seems ad though he was the instigator or proponent in the matter.

Might be the little bum kick to assist Charlie turn his fortunes around!

Also good early setback fir Kossie to understand the TEAM ethos and hw will really feel it today and be remorseful.

Both should be asked to apologise publicly to their teammates and Coaches.

I would put Lockhart or Sparrow in as replacement.

Lockhart YES
Sparrow NO but ascended to emergency role. Not sure he could come straight in under rules or It's ok but cause an unwelcome fine in this cost saving season.

You’d better present yourself at The Manor For a jolly good flogging  picket

You might find it has a calming effect

    GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs Essendon

It’s game day and the Demons face a massive test which may determine whether they have what it takes to play finals this season. The task has been made all the more difficult without their Premiership Captain Max Gawn.

    GIANT HEADACHE by Whispering Jack

The crack in the captain’s ankle might be very small but the repercussions of the injury are enormous. The aftershock of the news that Max Gawn will sit on the sidelines for the next two or three weeks has provided Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin with a giant headache, not unlike the one he faced after the Kings Birthday when another Demon superstar Christian Petracca suffered his season-ending injury. That headache is magnified by the fact that Goodwin is facing a month of tough encounters a

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.
