Brown will play between 22 and 26 games for us this year.

Loving Brown early.

Umps already absolute [censored].  Thought we might get a praccie game in before that happened.

They have to be consistent Wise?

No scrap that.

Trac showing the Mongrel. ❤️?

Loving Trac in the midfield. He's got a bit of c*nt about him today too. This year is surely the year where he puts it together for full games and takes the next step from good to great.

Good start.

Lever and Trac the real standouts.  Both look very fit and ready for big years.

Brown gives us something... crafty up forward.  I like it.  Langdon and Tomlinson have been decent, with Langdon showing us a glimpse of what he'll bring to the team late on in that term.

Kicking inside 50 still needs work but I'll reserve judgement after just one quarter for 2020.

I am watching it on AFL live with a telstra phone    account   Cheers

Trac looking as good as hes been hyped up to be all preseason.   Very good to see.

Love watching Petracca and Oliver together in the middle

Pleased by Weideman. Not a lot of the ball but showed some poise and clean hands in traffic.

Jackson looked exciting when he went into the ruck can see what an athlete he is

24 - 12 our way.  Could be a bigger lead but we've kicked 3.6.

Jackson can leap! He’s good on the ground too!! [censored]!!!! Footy is back!!!!

Brown playing in square and getting the frees TomMac used to get. Tommy looking just off the pace so far.

Guess.

Decent first quarter. We're still bombing to the hotspot, so obviously Goodwin hasn't figured it out yet. Brown looks pretty decent. Langdon can move. Pickett has great pace and pressure, but needs to get some ball too. Spargo ignored the obvious handball, u-turned into trouble and gave a crap blind pass that went out of bounds. Lever has already taken some outstanding defensive marks, but also had a disgraceful clanger kick out of defence.

Jackson is jumping all over O'Brien. Very impressive.

Petrecca is a beast.

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
