God I love seeing these topics

I'll be playing cricket (fresh if a man of the match 2/3, 2 clutch catches and a 13* to steer the innings home) but can't wait to watch the replay

Remember kids:

This match means nothing if we lose, but we are premiership favourites if we win. There is no in between.

Planned my whole weekend around trekking out to Casey Fields at 4:00 today

For some it's the other way around with a spoon as the reward if we lose.

True. But I pretend those supporters don't exist.

To those who have been to these pre-season matches at Casey what’s the recommended time to allow before the match to get in and find a park? Also is there much likelihood of a lock out or will rocking up with a membership be fine?

Predictions anyone?

Dees by 5 points. Why?

Blind hope after 2019.

Never seen a lockout at any of the ones I've been to and not many Crows would know where Casey is.

40mins before kick off would be ample time and we have been as late as 15mins before and still got a reasonable park. Having a FWD has helped at times.

Thanks for the tips! I think we’ll work of a timeframe along those lines, now 4WD available though so I’m thankful for it not being a wet day!

This will be our first hit out against 'real' opposition, and we are fielding a strong team that, from all accounts, have had a strong pre-season.  It should be a good indicator of how we are travelling at this early stage.  I'll be disappointed if we don't win

Yeah agree I’m just going to turn up with my membership shouldn’t be any need to pay extra....last year v Lions was about 4000 I think

Totally agree, we’ve had pretty bullish talk from the club and Adelaide are probably in more of a rebuild mode than challenging.

I’ve been living in London for the last 3 years and worked a lot of weekends before that I honestly can’t imagine when my last “live” win was. I know it’s pre-season, but I really want to watch a win with my own eyes. I was also lucky enough to see 2 weeks of the season proper in 2018, somehow managed to get two of our worst weeks of the year in Hawks and Tigers.

True but a section of the ground is blocked off so it may be more cramped.

Agreed.

People say preseason games dont mean much...  thats rubbish.    When we lost both preseason games last season many supporters thought something felt off.  The rest is history...

A lot to look forward to today. Main watch is Trac, interested to see how much time he spends in the middle.

Whilst everyone likes a positive result I will be calling it a win if there are no injuries however other key themes I am looking for. Signs of return to form/fitness of the 2018 clan. Bright spots from our second and first years that show they will push claim. A more balanced game style that is strong at the contest but more so improved on the outside and defensively.

$20 entry today for a practice match is a bit steep no? thought it’d be $5 tops..

I’m in Wagga.

Anyone know if this game is broadcast via online radio or any other media or do I just check in here for reports from you fine people?

Are there any indicators from the emergencies  that did or didn't run out yesterday as to the full extent of the side that will take to the field today?

Seeing that side named, whilst not totally unexpected for the likes of T Mac and Melksham, was like an early Christmas present with respect to the likes of AVB.  I guess we will see by the end of the day if that named team was just a dream or turns out to be a nightmare.

SEN used to do pre season games and you could listen on their website, not sure if they are this year though

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
