Congrats and well deserved. A loyal servant of the club and in past one of our best players.

Congratulations, supremely loyal and dedicated to the red and blue.

Hopefully he becomes a part of the 300 game club this year as well.

Assuming he plays every game, it would be V's GC Suns in round 15, Sat arvo at the G.

And another 6 games after that he will equal the big fellas record of 306

Hopefully we can do him proud in his last few years. If any bloke deserves it, it’s Nate.

Peter Jackson gets life membership as well. Personally, I'd have given him Prime Ministership of Australia as well.

A terrific individual honour for a bloke that hasn't had much to celebrate from a team perspective throughout his career.

That said, a big part of me can't help but think that if he does crack the 300 games, it has more to do with other guys not taking the next step in their development.  Jones' form in 2019 was embarrassing at times, and his pace was a liability.  With a clean injury list (if there were such a thing), he's not in my starting 22, and is dropping down the depth list as well.

Yeah, but incompetentce is basically a prerequisite for that job, so he wouldn't even get a look in.

Congrats Jonesy boy, deserve all that comes your way.

Fantastic Achievement.

Jonesy deserves this.

Very well deserved, onya Jonesy!

Nathan Jones the heart of the club where loyalty is his strength. You couldn't ask for any better from a real Melbourne man.

Congratulations on becoming an AFL life Member and more so hopefully a 300 gamer with the MFC.

Congratulations Nathan - despite great odds over many long seasons of football, you largely held out Club together with your tireless efforts and intents. A footballing sunset is a difficult time at the individual level but we all remember holding our heads high on so many occasions due to your endeavour. A just and rare reward for a MFC player.

Well done with AFL life membership, not sure about his future career after the last 2 Seasons and with a healthy list pre season 2020  I can’t see him in the best 22, pace is a issue and seems lost from his mid in and under, has failed in set positions, fwd line position he would find it hard to play defensive, team injury’s might allow him to get to 300 games

Our modern day Robbie Flower!

Stayed loyal to the club when there was no reason to do so and coincidently wore the same number 2.

Everyone compares with Robbie, but not well. One can compare a Bugatti Veyron with a Skoda Fabia.

compare
verb
  1. 1.
estimate, measure, or note the similarity or dissimilarity between.

    GRAMMAR
  2. form the comparative and superlative degrees of (an adjective or an adverb).

    noun
    LITERARY
  1. of a quality or nature surpassing all others of the same kind.

A plus for loyalty.

A grade player.

Be great to see him get to 300 and play finals in 2020.

Will be able to provide value off the bench this season, and would love to see him chase opposition players, as a leader been my greatest frustration with him, a pity when he has done so many things exceptionally well!

The strength of our support for Jones at this late stage in his career is a measure (never a comparison) of our respect for him on so many levels across recent MFC history. Surely?

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
