Must be a slow news night. This story was the one we heard early last week. Dodgy news corp attempting to get cheap clicks.

There is absolutely nothing new about this news...

Clickbait. The story about Bennell is almost a week old. It talks about Friday’s practice match v North Melbourne in the future tense.

The original story wasn’t exactly what you would describe as “Bad News For Bennell” but rather, as bad news for those who want to rush a player when he’s not ready. That’s something completely different.

Jeez what a ridiculous piece of click bait, it’s just talking about how we said (last week) we’ll be taking things super slow and steady with him.

Sometimes I genuinely wonder if they wake up and ask each other “how do we create a news story today?”

Anything to do with Bennell will be big news. If he makes it back they have a Cinderella story. If not, it gives them a chance to label it a failure and dredge up his past...

Goodwin mentioned this is a presser over a week ago. The footy media is an absolute cesspool.

However, I hope the club forewarned HB that tripe like this is a regular occurrence in the Victorian media & that for every muppet like Brad Hardie in Perth there are 10 of them in Melbourne. All trying to have the loudest voice

I don’t think anyone on here was expecting him till mid season. To me it is almost good news, just confirms what we already knew.
Harley can build form from the back end of the season and be cherry ripe for finals. Yay!

When the panic buying from the corona virus clears the shops of toilet paper we will finally find a good use for the Hun.

"Where are all today's stories? You know you're on a quota, you lazy ******s!"

"But boss ... it's a slow news day ... there's nothing happening ..."

"So you want all the clicks to go to the Daily Mail and the Nine web site, do you? Do you know how much **** I get from head office if our numbers drop?"

"But boss ..."

"I want six stories on line by noon from each of you, or you're all out of here at 12:05!"

"Yes boss. Of course boss."

If Channel 7 Seven got the sole rights to televise The AFL Footy on FTA instead of Murdoch then that would be a real scoop according to Ralphy, wouldn't it????

Not much love for the Dees in that crew. Using Bennell as a scapegoat or frontman for another failing Demons' year, that is all. Had Bennell gone to The Filth, they would now be outright Premiership favourites and Bennell would be the graceful archangel to carry them to a flag inside the six months of game readiness during the 2020 season, all in the eyes of cant and journalistic desperation. Stuffem and ignore.

I often wonder if the likes of the author of this piece are self-loathing people. Honestly, how could you ever take pride in your work when this is your chosen line of business? Then again, he’s probably not bright enough to be that self-aware.

Also, are there people out there that actually pay their hard-earned for a Herald Sun subscription?

Ralph is a 3rd rate journalist.

I remember when they were announcing Goody's appointment to coach under Roos prior to becoming head coach, every station had the audio feed except for SEN. The reason being that Ralph was on it at that exact moment swearing black and blue that Goodwin was a sure thing to become the Crows head coach.

When there are the likes of Robinson and Ralph to read, how could anyone afford not to @Nasher?

Love this quote from the article:

"AFL.com.au understands he privately passed other tests in recent weeks, including sprints away from the club's main training oval at Gosch's Paddock."

Yes Nasher me!

still have the Hun delivered daily and with it come a digital membership.

We both still enjoy reading a "paper" ( yes we are old) .

I do use the digital service but prefer reading the real paper.

i also use digital services for news from around the world as well but like all forms of "news" you have to discerning about who the info comes from but nothing has changed in that respect.

True, but I doubt if the HS is a discerning choice OD.  You need to break these old habits to stay forever young.

To be honest sue I don't want to as well it is difficult to change the habits of a life time.

I do believe I am fairly with it in the 21st century sue, well a lot more than some of my friends.

However you do reach a point I have discovered where you start to lose interest in constant change.

I could however easily handle a change in the fortunes of the MFC.

Some champions executing their skills can can not only look different but sound different, e.g. when Adam Gilchrist used to hit the ball. That's what came to mind watching, and listening, to Bennell's kick in the video clip of that drill.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
