Port Adelaide delists one-time Melbourne captain Jack Trengove after two years at Alberton
http://m.afl.com.au/news/2019-09-25/former-no2-draft-pick-among-trio-of-power-cuts

Very sad & a reflection of how poor & pathetic our footy club had become ..  a club more obsessed on securing early draft picks & thinking they would just develop, rather than building programs & systems to develop players whether pick 1 or 50., set club back 10+ years

Good luck mate

All the best Jack

Always be a Demon for mine.

Stuck at it when many would have withered. A top bloke by al accounts.

Enjoy your life son.

A player getting delisted is a reflection on the player. Plenty of greats have played for worse clubs than ours.

What's pathetic is your obsession with turning every little thing into an excuse to stick the boots into Melbourne.

Always thought this bloke would make a great coach.  His best footy moments might still be ahead of him.

Great young player destroyed by injury.  His career died slowly and many forget (or choose to forget) how good he was in his first two years.

One of my favourites.

I get the joke... but really

Sorry to here that they gave you the chop Trenners. Loved you at Melbourne and always hoped that you would come good with that foot of yours. You are a great person in my eyes and you are certainly  a credit to your family.

To me and  many others I am sure you will always be a Demon for life.

What a pathetic comment.

What’s pathetic is the acceptance of mediocrity the mfc has dished out the last 55 years...

Can’t argue with that. Some on here will try. But it is entirely futile to do so...!

All the best Trenners, fantastic bloke and such a shame it's ended this way

fingers crossed the Suns give him one last crack

Nobody accepts mediocrity,  not sure which bit you both don't get, me personally I was appalled by what was dished up in some games, but I still support the club

What I don't accept is you two taking the opportunity in every thread to whinge and whine,

it's BORING

Go and do something else if it [censored] you that much

Jack Trengove was cruelled by injury and the game changed whilst he was out

At least he played AFL, top guy, very.knowledgeable on footy, hope he is not lost to the game

But look at the list they were gifted. They were created to be successful quickly, not like the rest of us who developed slowly.

They were given so many top players, that as they traded the surplus, they got more high picks to pick the best again in the next seasons.

They were always going to succeed.

Maybe he also suffers from Trollopothy

Trengove before his foot injuries was tracking beautifully.  Injuries curtailed him more than the development.

Man there is some rolled gold snark on DL today

Chill fellas. Go for a  run or swim or ride of something. Actually, I need some help with some electric fencing. Anyone got a couple of hours to decompress?

Credit to Jack, this is what perseverance looks like. After all the mishaps with his injuries he stayed on our list for as long as possible and managed to make a second AFL list for a couple of years.

He put up some incredible numbers in the SANFL this season and was probably unlucky not to play a few more games for Port. If he continues playing footy somewhere he would be a great benefit to that club and all the best Jack.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
