NOooooooooooooooooooooo

I’ve left the country for 4 weeks to miss the end of this tragic season, but at least when we were up and going last year, it was great to watch.

could never enjoy watching Ross Lyon coached team, so slow, boring and miserable!!! Week after week after week!!!!

Never!

Wow ,would have him at Melb in a heartbeat!

You knew he was in trouble when he said, "I think im coaching better than ever."

How lucky is Goodwin

Gee  he must be praying to the Gods now The worst performing Coach is still standing

Fixed for you @Kent

As the "great man" Gary Lyon would say - "it's about the body of work".

Goodwin, as you well know took a team to a prelim, less than a year ago, and there has been a range of extenuating factors as you also know.

Ross, Bolton, Richardson - nope.

his time came and went.... don’t feel he adapted very well to changes.

i hope it doesnt affect our push to get langdon.

Definite no to Ross at MFC in any capacity.

Destroyed StKilda and was pushed out the door....Destroyed Fremantle and was pushed out the door...even we beat them.... its a shoe in hell be knocking on our door.

Close mate of Roos.

Dockers Board obviously love Bell.

Not suprised at all

The people of Freo had been sharpening the knives for a long time

4 Coaches in a year

Simon is right in the gun now

I’m hearing whispers that Brad Scott will be joining the Dockers. #Eartotheground #Howdoeshekeepdoingit?

He'd be packing bricks right about now. Heart would have skipped a beat when he heard the news.

Not with 3 years left he isn't.

The key to this for me is if he has lost the players.

If he has, we are in deep trouble.

If he hasn't, it can be fixed.

I'm sorry, but how did he destroy either of those clubs? St.Kilda were an absolute rabble under Grant Thomas. He took them to consecutive grand finals and was one good bounce away from being a Premiership Coach. Also got Freo to a grand final and consecutive finals series but faced a once-in-a-generation Hawks side.

I know he left the Saints when the wheels started to fall off, but it was only time I can remember when the Saints were actually a formidable side.

C’mon Red, you know contracts mean nothing today. Goodwin will be in the firing zone now. He has a very busy summer ahead. Our Practise Games will tell a lot

Strikes me as an ideal candidate to be a coaching director or senior mentor type role for us.

Thoughts @Lucifer's Hero?

I think it takes a good relationship and healthy mutual respect to be a mentor and the mentoree needs to want to be mentored.

Am not aware of a relationship between Goodwin and Lyon so doubt it as a mentor.

There are probably better candidates for a coaching director.

Serve them right, I have never thought that either Scott brother could coach.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
