If i see them dressed up in Costumes and the like on TV, i will be filthy.

No Jumbo. We the Members need a break and regroup.

The Players can start with Burgess on Sunday morning as far as i am concerned.

2019 was completely wasted

Zurich and Jaguar must be thrilled

I think Jaguar was a one year deal so we can kiss them goodbye.

Zurich? No idea but I hope it was more than one year.

I always hope for renegotiation as far as Sponsors are concerned. But this year will be a tough one.

I suggest the club goes with a Titanic theme for mad monday. with Goodwin arranging the deck chairs, the Captains wrestling over control of the ships wheel, assistants jumping overboard, and the passengers(players) out to save themselves and fighting for a spot in the lifeboats. abandon ship!

Brilliant.

Settle down

Let them have a break

Sure they can have a break but they definitely have nothing to celebrate

Think they have been indulging in those for four months dc.

Agree

Thus, we start the process of exit interviews, drafting needs, etc etc

Set new standards

Mad Max theme.

Drop them all in the middle of the Tanamai desert and let them run back. They can take turns carrying Gawny all the way back to Melbourne while he gives them a spray about how he's had to carry them all year.

Hopefully these turkeys don't put their celebrations on social media. Absolutely nothing to celebrate.

If the club was smart they would caution the players against such imagery lest it anger the support base.

The Mad Monday celebrations should be conducted like a wake and not a dress up celebration. Celebrations are for winners. Not many can hold their heads high this year.

I'm sure the players don't call it a celebration. That's you giving it your negative spin.

No one is suggesting that they train on Mad Monday. I'm not even suggesting that they don't have a break for the holidays. I just do not want to see them galavanting it up on social media like they're champions of the world. Many should be ashamed of the season that they had. Go away. Recharge. And come back on day 1 of the preseason in tip top condition. And by day 1 I mean even the senior players should front up on first to 3rd years day. No [censored] excuses.

Except for Max. He can do as he pleases but even he will rock up on day one because he doesn't have a [censored] pea heart. He has the heart of a stallion.

What possible right do you, or any of the other 'livid' people on this thread, have to dictate to players about their holidays?

For god's sake, they chase around a piece of leather for your entertainment. You don't own them. Their holidays, and what they do on them, are none of your bloody business.

Nope, these individuals who I've never met, owe me everything. I am a stakeholder don't you know. They don't know what it is like to support a team that has never one a GF in my life time. Our culture stinks, its the curse don't you know it's the curse. So these humans, who are supposed professionals, don't know what it is like to support a team, they are merely employees of an enitity that is symbolic to anything that is meaningful in my life ,hence my indignant rage at these people whom I have never met whom owe me every thing.

Did I mention they owe me everything?

Pretty sure the AFLPA requires the players to have a minimum of 6-8 weeks break or something a long those lines.

Goody and his coaches need that 6 weeks to devise a game plan that will get us back into finals and ready to present to the players Day 1.

as long as it's a new game plan ........ complete with plan b and c

When do they do the exit interviews?  Suspect there will be a few that will not be in the mood to party.  Need some serious honesty, and clear the decks of those that are seriously gone with no trade value.

They should dress up as the 2019 season...

I haven't seen any images on social media or in the mainstream media of any mad monday demons celebrations so perhaps they were cautioned not to put it out there.

MFC have exit interviews till Wednesday so I doubt there will be a Mad Monday maybe Thursday!!!

So did we burn any dwarfs?

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
