“I think they’re paying massive money to Lever and May and Frost is their best defender,” Riewoldt told SEN.

“I’m more confident in Frost at the moment than the other two to beat a man.

“If I was playing tomorrow and the three of them lined up I reckon I’d find it harder to get a kick on Frost than the other two.

“I know Frost can stuff it up from time to time, but he gives great effort.”  (https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2019-nick-riewoldt-garry-lyon-unpack-issues-at-melbourne/news-story/c4d626fff76702fe3ad9cb27ffc7ad87)

100% effort and speed.  No wonder most of you wanted him delisted from the club earlier this year.  Like the club, it's in our DNA not to value what we lack.

David King was too smart for his own good with the kryptonite comment.  As far as our supporters go, probably the other end of the spectrum.

Stick it up them Frosty.

Who says we don't accept mediocrity here at Demonland.

Now this is overly harsh statement on Frosty as i agree with the sentiment from the op.

But to agree you have to accept there are flaws.

And this is why i love Demonland. On one hand the sky is falling and on the other we are happy to blindly ignore the issues.

Looking forward to expert commentary

Ah you have it!

FROST STAYS!

Frosty - sometimes wrong, but never in doubt!

And never boring.

If someone could compile it, it would be the best highlight & blooper package ever.

Any coincidence that he's played his best footy with Lever and/or May by his side?

Frost has some great attributes. He could save us a game.

He also has some astoundingly bad qualities. And could lose us a game.

I’ve been sticking it up the Frost bashers for over 12 months.  Great to be Proven correct.

When did that happen?

Will be happy to see him go at season’s end.

I would back May personally...

Much better player and one on one defender.

He did the year, didn’t he? Heroics against Hawthorn if I recall.

His run up the Guts last year in the Final, against Whorethorn was poetry in motion

The kick not so much, but hey, it still resulted in a goal!

Was a tad critical and skeptical in 2016 but came around early 2017.... don't usually float my own boat but no one else is going to....

Love to see Frost ragdoll him like he did to Riewoldt last night...

That was very impressive WWS. Frost has really gained in strength and his attack on ball carrier the last few seasons. Becoming a pretty powerful athlete.

Tyson - 27 possessions @ 59% efficiency. 19 of his disposals were handballs and half his possessions uncontested. 3 tackles, 0 score involvements and 0 assists.

Seriously.

There's nowhere to hide man.

He is a bit over rated by many IMO steve.

Viney for Tyson when fit.

Frost for Wags.

Watts for Stretch.

That will be our best line up for finals if we make it.

Hogan is our guy, but sadly we flood the goal square the bomb it long over and over, so he has no chance to mark it.

Get the hell out of the goal square people, make a lead. If hogan can't mark it, Jeffy can grab the scraps.

But nope, lets bomb it long to 15 guys and hope for the best. Genius.

And bombing it today was the worst of all options as they had a very tall backline.   Pretty basic but clever selection by the Pies

Still can't understand why Frost wasn't included to add extra height down back and extra run off HB as well.

Playing the 8 man defence would make a little more sense to me if he was included when playing it for the extra run & carry on the rebound off the other flank to compliment Hibberd

Coming up to 90 games. Will be hitting that peak 100 games mark. Another experienced defender that we need to sign at years end.

There was a post on here only a week or so ago saying that Frost turnovers resulted in twice as many scores against us as the next player

He does some good things and is pretty good 1 on 1 but his brainfades are unacceptable. He is not the answer and if we are relying on him to be a long term answer we're going nowhere.

If our players had the endeavour as Frosty has we would be in a better place than we are at the moment. Absolutely!

Remember the chase that caught Petruccelle  the fleet footed WCE player that tried to take Frosty on,  Chased him down caught  him and from the back of the jumper and dragged him like a rag doll, literally.

Frosty is one of a few players that l feel comfortable about when he is picked to play.

It was all one piece of mad movement...!

Bump this one in April next year when he once again looks like he's never played the game before.

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
