GAMEDAY: Rd 14 vs Fremantle

Things have been a tad chilly at Romsey of late.

I intend venturing forth to the warmer clime of Melbourne and basking in a mighty Demon victory.

I think we will win today.

Come at me bros.

Also have a gut feeling we’ll win. Not much logic involved, just a feeling.

That forward line gets me about as pumped as a two day old party balloon. Freo by 27 points.

Clarry v Fyfe and May v Hogan head to head will be fun to watch though.

A game a half average team should win. Playing an interstate team at home after a week rest. However unless it Carlton or Suns I have zero confidence particularly as Freo unlike us has the making of a pretty good team. They knocked off Collingwood so cant see them to worried about Melbourne. Whilst you always want to win in some way it will take more losses to wake this club out of it complacency and accept major change is needed. For the long term winning more game like this will just assign this year as unlucky and once luck return we will be competitive. Essendon have fallen for this trap and with our player and coach set up irrespective of winning a few game now how can you be confident of the future.

Watch out for the New Rules........... run as far as you like, push the nearest opposition player into crowd whenever the opportunity arises, talk lovingly to opposition and  the judiciary.

Cannot fail....

Best of luck to Jade Rawlings in his first game back as forward line coach.

Heres hoping his influence has us kick 15+ goals and win by at least 4.

I don’t believe we will win today. That said, I’m that far behind in my tipping comp I’ve gone for us.

Strategy.

I’m fully expecting a great game from No 11.........and I’m sure Max will also play a blinder....

We’ve gone from $1.85 to $1.67 over night.

Firstly why are we favourites?

Secondly who had a big nibble on us last night and does he have some insider trading?

I have no idea what to expect today.  A good start and kicking straight would help.

So are people going to boo jesse today? I'm annoyed he left but with what he has been through i get it. I won't boo but I'm hoping he has a shocking day. May and hogan will be a good matchup.

I also don't think it will be a great crowd

My thoughts too.

Hope he doesn’t get booed but hope he has a dirty and undisciplined day.

Expecting not much more than we delivered against GWS but will be happy if wrong.

The three outs have certainly deflated the interest in this match.

Why would anyone boo Hogan... infantile to say the least for those who do.

Crowd wise if we crack 20k we will do well.. certainly won't have to worry about having less than half a section to myself in the AFL members.

Thought the same thing no way should we be favorite for this game.

If your as bitter as you are optimistic then I pity your friendship circle

No way we will win this. MCG is turning out to be a jinx of a ground for us these days.

It's part of the theatre of the sport. Don't take yourself too seriously.

$1.65 now, some punters probably still think Jesse plays for us.

Fighting 6 goal loss kicking 7 goals 20 points... Hogan to collect 25 and kick 4...

“Friendship circle” ? Got me on that one Josh!

However, I must be lucky today. Dropped into the club for a pre game warmup. The moment I entered the spa everyone else chose to leave. Same with the sauna.

Go figure!

Today’s crowd number  will be the perfect example of why we play games in Darwin

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
