6 Gawn - amazing. Rucked all night. Second efforts. Tackles.

5 Hore - great mark.  Tackles. Disposal was very good.

4 Hunt- attacked the footy with energy. Got and setup goals

3 Salem   - clean disposal. Composed

2 Frost   Very good except for that last goal line fumble

1 Oliver. Got the footy and moved it constructively BUT a lot of his handballs were to other players to put them under pressure

apologies to Harmes and Jones. They added a lot of inside ball winning.

6. Gawn  . Beautiful tap work. Plus second efforts

5. Hore  .His development provides one bright spot in this shitty year.

4. Oliver. Ball magnet. Just clean up disposal.

3. Hunt. Provides pace, dash and likes a goal. Set shots need to improve.

2. Harmes.  Mr. Reliable.

1. Frost.  A flawed genius in defence.

6 - Gawn. The most dominant ruck game I have ever witnessed live. He destroyed two ruckmen, both at the coal face and around the ground. Sometimes I think we do not celebrate his greatness...he is a special player! Maybe the best player we have had in the last 10 years

5 - Hunt. A revelation as a forward. He has resurrected his career at the MFC and I am happy for him

4 - Hore. A very good intercept defender. He reads the ball so well in the air and has real courage. Has cleaned up his disposal also

3 - Harmes. Becoming our most versatile midfielder

2 - Oliver. Messy but provided great forward drive and I love the bloke. He will get better. Easy to forget he is so young

1 - Frost. A flawed genius. The chase, tackle on petrucelli, followed by the kick out of bounds sums him up. Great effort though

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
