Confession: I turned the game off in disgust after that last Gold Coast goal with 49 seconds left. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would come back to Demonland 30 minutes later and find out we won. Half an hour after we lost(!), I rewind the game and watch the miracle on grass.

Unbelievable. We are fated to make the finals this year. Or not, but that was an incredible 60 seconds of footy to watch all the same.

I remember the lack of success, and the wooden spoons of the 70's and early 80's.

I remember the horror of the Neeld era.

We won. I am happy. Unwatchable football and no joy  in watching the game, but a win.

I don't care that we won, our season is beyond over. I actually feel for the Suns, I liked what they were doing. We were Neeld/Bailey era bad. Dumb football, poor skills, nobody can take a mark, complete absence of a gameplan. Putrid.

Did you see the coaching staff celebrate in the box? How embarrassing. It's like we won the Grand final when all we did is beat a candidate for the wooden spoon.

Ugh

Wet blanket.

Tom McDonald being called the “star of the show” by Mooney is laughable.

He was deplorable along with just about everyone else.

What a horrible game of football.

Our coaches have done nothing to fix our fumble and ball on ground problems from last year.

The forward line is a mess, the structure is non-existent and we have no plan when then ball hits the ground.

Sad but true.

Excited we won but that was more the grog.

Did not deserve it. Shocking skill errors and dumb footy.

Well done boys for just not giving up at all!!

Yeah I mean you gotta be happy with a win. Those last 49 seconds saved this game from being officially the worst display of football ever seen in a professional game of AFL.

It was a very costly win to a team already battling fitness and injury and our season is still done and dusted, but hey, take what you can get and celebrate.

A terrible miss kick, a dropped mark and a kick that hit the post never looked so good!

When they went 6 points up I stormed to the front door to pick up the pizzas.  Got halfway up the hall and turned around thinking that there was still hope; scared the dog when T Mc hit the post.  To cap it off, the pizzas weren't ready when I eventually got there.

That was the worst game we have played in 5 years but we got the 4 points.  There is still hope.

The last 49 seconds will be remembered and for Hibberd i am glad of that.

Busted collarbones are so painful

This team will click at some stage soon.

Ugly wins are so important

the season is still alive

Extraordinary finish.

Gee whiz we played like excretion.

You should be wrapped with the result considering you tipped the Suns by 20pts.

It might not be watchable but it's pretty bloody funny at times.

I’m with you Cassie, I’m surprised at the negativity here, imagine if we had lost! That last 49 seconds showed huge growth with our group, we stole a win, go Dees! Flag’s up 2 weeks in a row

I’m not expecting finals, but seriously if you think we don’t deserve any support, why go in here? Go on the opponents forums or go on Facebook to do negativity comments. I understand for a loss, but a win? What other fans would do this?

For decades, I've seen teams like Hawthorn and the Swans play like rubbish in games like this and then snatch a win, often from us. Now , we're doing it. Good.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
